So I have a few older siblings that have children. I have 3 adorable nieces all 7-9 years old and knew it wouldn’t be fair to pick 1 or 2 to be flowergirs, so I said they all can be and they were thrilled.
Now I have 3 nephews also, one is 5, one, 7, one, 8. I knew I wasn’t going to have 3 ringbearers, so my fiance and I just chose the 5 year old. That was last summer and I recently met up with family and my 7 year old nephew was there going around saying he was the only one not in the wedding and was acting upset about it (his sister is a flowergirl). The 8 year old who also isn’t was fine. I told him there is only one ring pillow and its for the littlest boy in the family to bring up.
I thought that was the end of it. Then my SIL, his mom, said in front of him maybe he could be an usher or I could give him something to do. I really don’t want to assign any duties to these other young boys, this 7 year old can be fresh sometimes and I already have 4 kids in the wedding party and only 2 bridesmaids/1Maid/Matron of Honor who will be busy with the groomsmen. I told my SIL since the wedding is small (80 people) we should be all set and he can just enjoy it. I think she has an idea she could slip him in day of someplace or will have an issue if I don’t ask him to do something. Any advice?
