Hi! I’m a fan of ornate bands, and the one I’m currently infatuated with is 4mm wide. I’m looking for a centerstone to balance out the width, but I’m also still a student, so I don’t want anything that will attract a ton of attention. I’m looking at getting a simulant (probably Asha), so cost isn’t an issue. I have a 6.5 finger, average to short in length. I would really appreciate any advice or pictures of your rings (with carat & finger size listed)!

mvlkay: if look into moissy over asha. I’ve heard asha gets cloudy over time

Thanks! Yea, I’ve heard that too–I’m thinking Asha for the next few years and then see what’s going on with the Amora, or if other better simulants have come around.

Whichever one has a better cut. If they all had identical specs, I’d go for 1.5.

It depends on your fingers and what looks best. To the average eye, the difference between a 1.25 and 1.5 is not huge, so if cost isn’t an issue then I say go for the bigger one for sure

I also feel like even if you don’t plan on buying, go to a store and try stuff on. I have small hands! I tried on a 2 carat and I thought it was too much. Im not blingy, and I work with my hands. It just wasnt me. Honestly the stone I liked most was under half a carat. Bigger does not always mean better. To me, big vs small is more of a style choice
