Hi Hive,
I am in the process of deciding on how everything will look at the reception and I need your help. I can't decide on how to coordinate the table linens, napkins, and chair cushions, with the flowers and to the overall look that I envision for the wedding. Please help. :)
Background: The wedding is in June and our venue is modern and has a lot of glass and windows as well as brightly colored carpet (that are a prairie motif) for the cocktail area. The reception room itself will have no windows...it's your standard room with chandeliers. The flowers are going to be soft whites and bold marigold/yellow with some green accents in between - something light, fresh, airy, and summery. Our bridesmaid dresses are eggplant so that is why we decided to go with eggplant napkins...we will also be having purple wall lighting so I want to keep the tables light and clean.
My biggest problem is figuring out the linens. I originally wanted champagne tablecloths and chair cushions (gold chivari chairs) and eggplant napkins. But as I browse through more and more pictures, I'm noticing everyone with:
-ivory tablecloths, ivory napkins, ivory chair cushions OR -champagne tablecloths, ivory napkins, and ivory cushions
Can anyone tell me if there is a "rule" to matching the colors of table linens? (This would carry over to what I would do in the cocktail area as well. As of now, all table linens -placecard table, guestbook table, gift table, cocktail rounds are all champagne).
How do I break up this color scheme gently?
thank you!
