(Closed) Choosing the bridesmaid dresses…which fabric?

I have only been to one wedding where the bridesmaid fabric was taffeta because the bride’s dress was taffeta. I really don’t think you have to match them, although I would imagine silk is too much of a difference because silk would be very shiny. Chiffon is nice!

I agree…matching fabrics isnt a requirement. And I think you wouldnt want to be too matchy matchy in the first place. Find a fabric that shares the same qualities.

my dress is taffetta and my girls will be wearing chiffon.  our reception is outside in the late summer so i didn’t want them to have to wear any heavy material!!

I had the same dilemma, where I thought the girls’ dresses had to match my dress, in terms of fabric. But my dress is satin and they’re wearing chiffon, so you can do whatever you want! Maybe narrow it down to a color/designer first and then see what fabric options are available. That might help make your decision for you.
