I will admit, I am not the tidiest person..but I’m also not the messiest either! I would like to be tidier and to have a house that looks tidy nearly all the time! So for those “house proud” bees and others….what chores would you put into each of these categories?
Just so you know, I do do housework….I’m just trying to see what I am missing!

This is what I would LIKE to do:
Daily: dishes (after every meal), light pickup (mail, shoes/shopping bags, stuff that comes home with us), wiping counters after cooking, putting away dishes
Bi-weekly: sweeping floors (it’s very dusty where we are), quick wash of bathroom sink, shake out tablecloth outside
Weekly: vacuuming (hate vacuuming!!), cleaning toilets, mopping kitchen floor maybe (ours gets really dirty because it’s this stupid kind of light colored rough stone that collects dust and then the second a drop of water falls on it, the spot turns black), put away laundry, dusting surfaces
Fortnightly: throw away old food from refrigerator, reorganize drawers/closet space (SO and I are cramped into one room at the moment so our stuff gets disorganized frequently), cleaning shower
Monthly: not sure- I try to wash my car and clean receipts out of it monthly.
As and when it needs it: cleaning walls in kitchen, cleaning refrigerator, cleaning stove (more frequently than other two, but I don’t bother unless it needs it), cleaning grout in shower.

We don’t have a schedule honestly. We just pick up what needs to be picked up and clean what needs to be clean when we have time. Usually light cleanings and then one good deep clean of EVERYTHING typically once a month.
The sink almost never has dishes in it overnight…usually not even for an hour after a meal but occasionally we won’t get to them until several hours later. We do laundry either weekly or every other week depending on how many clothes we have. Toilets get scrubbed when they start looking a little dingy, same with the bath tub. We wipe the counters and stove down after cooking, vacuum when it needs it and we have the shark little thing for daily things that need to be just vacuumed up real quick, dust when things look dusty lol No set schedule.

I hate chores.
Wash dishes, wipe down counters, sweep kitchen and vaccume living room, and wash laundry.
Weekly I will wipe down desk/tv/stand/etc. Tidy up kitchen table, Oraganize junk, clean bathroom, vaccume other rooms.
Every blue moon I shampoo the carpets, hose the outside of the house, and wash the inside and outside windows.
I need to keep my fridge cleaner, and clean my oven sometime. I rarely pick up my 3 year olds room (he’s supposed to) and our garage is a mess.

Daily: wipe down counters, stovetop, tidy up
Bi-weekly: take out trash, wipe down microwave
Weekly: vacuum/sweep, laundry
Fortnightly: dust, clean bathroom (toilet, sink, counter, etc.), mop
Monthly: wash bedding (should probably do this more, but oh well), reorganize/major tidy up, wash windows
As and when it needs it: cleaning walls, refridgerator, cabinet doors
It’s only me in a little one bedroom apartment, so it’s very easy to maintain and it doesn’t get very dirty.

- Wedding: May 2013 - Pavilion overlooking golf course scenery, reception at banquet hall
Life has been INSANE the past few months (wedding, honeymoon, home buying, moving, unpacking) so I’m not following this as well as I did pre-wedding crunch time, but my general cleaning-motivation looks like this:
– make the bed
– pick up and put away junk
– pick up trash from around the house
– get the mail, sort it, clip coupons
– load the dishwasher
– pet care
– wipe down counters
– take out the trash
– keep an eye on the budget/spending via websites/spreadsheets
– water the lawn
– file paperwork/mail
– laundry (wash/dry/fold/hang)
– run and unload the dishwasher
– mow the lawn
– grocery shopping
– clean bathrooms (sorry, I know I’m gross!)
As it needs it:
– bathe the dog
As you can see, we’re not the cleanest little family in the world, but just enough to just keep it all in check.
