Me and my FI are looking for a Christian Church in CT that we can consider for our reception… we are looking for a beautiful church to have our ceremony in. I am from NY and my FI from CT but is not an avid church go’er and his parents would like to see us get married in a church so I figured I begin the hunt. If not I’m PERFECTLY happy having a beach ceremony as I wanted but I figured it can’t hurt to look. Please let me know and attach pictures if you know of any places. Thanks </font>

CT is actually a large state. are you considering to be on the shore? Is his family from a certain area?

hehe @ shay - CT is actually a small state with a ton of churches!  but you are right - the shoreline stretches from RI to NY, and there are so many places in between.

where in CT are you looking to get married? CT has cities, beaches, small country towns, etc. also, are you looking for a specific denomination?

in our case we belong to an absolutely amazing catholic church in hartford, st patrick's st anthony's.  they have a policy of 'open minds, open hearts, open doors' that they live by. it is historic and right downtown - but, we are getting married in a tiny, charming catholic church in pomfret (small rural town).

we can totally help you if you give us more details.

Here is a general list of CT churches that I found on Google. From my understanding, people that aren't members are welcome to use the church to be married for a fee. Many churches require you to use their clergy and musicians (organists, cantors) and go through some counseling with the  minster/priest.
