So...every year I send out Christmas cards, without any expectation of being sent ones in return. I always send to my godmother who lives in MI because I rarely see her. She also always sends one back. In her card, I always write a note just saying what's happening, how the year went, how her's (her family's) went, and etc. I always sign it Love, Ms.AXiD and Mr.TKE (on that note, I ALWAYS make Mr.TKE sign his own name :-D) I haven't sent out my cards this year yet, but I got her's in the mail today. Addressed to Ms.AXiD. The whole thing is made on my godmother's Mac. And all...ALL typed. The only thing hand written is the address.

First of all, I've been with Mr.TKE for almost 4 years and lived with him for the past 3 years. Second, they couldn't even be bothered to sign their names, or even just my godmother signing all the names? Third, I'm glad they got our address right, last year, they didn't even have that.

Seriously, it's like the cards you get from you dentist..."Happy Holidays sincerely Dr.SuchandSuch and the Staff at Dr.SuchandSuch Family Dentistry". Yea, it was that bad.

End rant. I feel a lot better now

I hate those types of cards too! I do not really see the point if you cannot even sign your name.

I was surprised at work today we got a card from the law firm we used and each employee's name was signed by them, that must have taken some time1

I get your frustration. I hate it when people send impersonal cards...but at least they send one, right? I hand write everything...I only get blank cards and write a personal message to each person.

@bohemianbailie: At my old job, we had to do that.  Hundreds of cards to sign (so not fun at all).

I understand how you feel but I think for some people. it's easier to create a document and print it a few times to catch everyone up on what's going on in the family instead of having to write the same things out over and over again.  I do think they should sign it though!

@thisismeAXiD: I agree with you totally.  I have a ton of those and it's hard to tell the one from my Dentist and my family
