Valentine's it is because I failed the Christmas after I got onboard lmao!! I will have to take a brief break break though because we are going to talk about ring styles next month sometime, but heck we can make it February 15th :D
Although I didn't announce it on here, I read the thread about the Christmas Challenge and somehow managed to stick to it! The last time I poked boyfriend about an engagement was my birthday (mid-November) and I made it all the way to Christmas!! Because I'm visiting some family this week and he is stuck at home working I'm going to try to hold out a few more days until NYE... I'd like to say I'll jump onto a V-Day challenge too, but I don't know if I can keep it zipped that long!!
Ugghh I failed the Christmas challenge miserably... I just can't seem to keep my mouth shut with other people's engagements happening every week! but I'm definitely joining you on the V- Day version :)

Ha, I didn't have to fail the Christmas challenge because Mr. KM is bringing it up probably more than I am. He sat down with his parents this weekend and told them, and my parents know, and we're coming down late January so he can talk to them and ask their blessing. I have a file folder of ideas and sketches of STDs and invites...
Yeah, I gave up after like a week. J kept bringing it up and it was too hard to try and not. He wasn't bothered by it though, and we had a lot of really good, productive conversations about the wedding and about marriage! So... failed challenge, but success in our relationship? I guess that's what's most important!
i would join but i know i'm not getting engaged anytime soon so not discussing it isn't going to help further our trip to engagment-land and most days i don't mention it anyway but i wanted to discuss a few things with him anyway so i'll have to bow out of this challenge as well. but i'm totally rooting for the ones who do decide to take it on!
lol @DD: it was like i took the challenge then i started bringing it up more or perhaps it was around more? we had some really awesome and cool convos since then and i honestly don't think i "need" to bring it up anymore.. i'm pretty sure we'll be getting married next year (SQUEAL WITH JOY OMG OMG OMG) okay (still grinning ear to ear) and we are in agreement on most things lol... i think since i have shown him that i am crazy and have no idea what ring i want, we're actually going to go look at rings together to get a better idea of which style we both like...
Gaaah! I put the fail in failure on this one. Majorly. We had a major fight about, what else, finances. We have lived together for four years but we bought our house in late August and we have had to adjust some things in our spending habits. Anyway, finances always get us, and unfortunately this time I made it even worse by saying something along the lines that if you have money for _ then you should have been able to buy a ring by now. Ouch. Not to mention it was the Sunday before Christmas and this time of year is always busy and stressful for both of us at work. I will have to work harder at the Valentine's day challenge. But I'm still secretly hoping that it will be NYE.
YUP I failed failed failed! LOl but the good thing is i think i have gotten out all of the questions that i think i wanted answered so hopefully I will do better for the Valentines Challenge!
I've been away from the boards for a bit (death in the family :( :( ) but a big YAAAAYYY to crebre!!! AAANNNDD I think the xmas challenge worked for me.. last night boyfriend asked me what my ring size was (out of the blue!). This might seem like a little nothing for some of you, but for him this is a BIG step since I am usually the one initiating the engagement/marriage convo. Anyways, I'm excited about it, it shows he's thinking about moving forward without me poking him to do so... which is all I really want in the first place. Soooo, I probly won't be keeping my mouth shut now that he brought it up.. FINALLY :)

Um... Mr. KM officially brings it up more than I do. For real. It was pretty much the only thing he could talk about tonight!
@crebre haha a premature YAY then... for me, even just progressing a bit is enough for celebration.... @KM So exciting for you!! I almost wish boyfriend would do that, although then I would probly be telling him to relax and STOP talking about it. I'm guessing since he's been alone at our apartment while I've been away visiting family has made him think about it more.
I think Ill join this Valentines challenge. This is my first, so wish me luck. Afterall, my BF says I ruin surprises and I talk about it too much which makes him not wanna propose because I expect it.
I did good. I think the last time I said something about it was before December 15th.LOL
I'll do good with the Valentine's cause I know it's not happening then either. I think I've given up.
(We've only been together a year, so I shouldn't be as antsy as other women, but I'll be 29 in 3 months. I"d like to have kids before I turn 32.)

I'm back from the holidays a bittersweet Minutiae.
Win: I didn't mention engagements or weddings at all for the challenge! And he brought it up himself on Christmas day! So now I have a definite idea of what to expect.
Fail: No engagement until next year/wedding until 2011 because there's not enough money. Damn. :( The challenge backfired on me, haha. But I sort of knew that was coming anyway. Such is life.
