    What to make/bring??

I usually have great receipe ideas and I LOVE to cook. But, I dunno if its the wedding stress, new job stress, general stress, but for the life of me I cant figure out what to make and bring to christmas!!

I need to make 2 dishes. And my mother wont even tell me what she is having for the main course. We are having christmas at her house this year and to be honest, she is not a great cook. So, Im not really sure what else we are having. I know my aunt is bringing a Broccoli cheese cassarole.

Any ideas?? What are you bringing to dinner?? :)

Why wont she tell you?? That makes it so much harder to decide!

What about baked mashed potatoes? You can prepare ahead and throw them in the oven at your mom's. I use a recipe from Giada de Laurentiis called Baked Mashed Potatoes w/parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs (google it, Food Network is blocked at work so I can't send you link)

And then maybe something easy like a salad? I'd just bring a bag of greens, slivered almonds, blue cheese crumbles, and a bottle of dressing and assemble it there.

I'd do an appetizer and a dessert--that way it doesn't really have to match the entree.  My favorite apps are spinach/artichoke dip and bread or pigs in a blanket (no one wants to own up, but everyone loves them).  For dessert, maybe a batch of brownies with festive frosting and sprinkles or special cookies?

I think I have narrowed it down to a few choices...

*Salami Rolls (classic and FI LOVES them)
*Pigs in a blanket (thank you Miss Longcoat I agree, everyone loves them)
    and EITHER --

    *Twice Baked Pots
    OR
    *Potato Salad

I think acorn squash is an easy/delicious winter dish to share!
