My FI’s sister is getting married on December 10 (destination wedding to Jamaica woo!)
Well, I was thinking since they’ll be newyweds just in time for Christmas, perhaps I could get them something related to their wedding?
I was thinking something like nice picture frames (beach themed perhaps?) they could put wedding photos in. Or maybe a book for newlyweds? “Our First Christmas” ornaments?
Any other ideas? Links would be appreciated!

see what is still on their registry after the wedding and get soemthing off that, scan it for the registry so they know not to buy it. 🙂

@CassidyR: Well, they only have House fund, which we’re donating to already for their wedding… I’d rather get them a gift they can open for Christmas. 🙂

How about a DIY hamper with like some jams, cheese, cookies? Condiments that they will store and use for the next few months?
Shows you put thought into it and would be useful to them at the same time 🙂

I found this on the Bee a long time ago and though it was so cute!
GREAT gift idea for Newlyweds!

I just tried to make this last night for our parents but failed (my invitation was layered and didn’t really work well). If their wedding invite is flat, you could cut it up and put it into a glass ornament like so…
I was going to add leaf charms (found at Michaels for like $1.50 each) since we had a fall wedding but the seashell or even a starfish or something would work for them. The whole gift would cost you under $5 and it’s something they’d cherish forever.

I was just going to post that!
Or how about putting a nice simple collage together of their wedding papers?

@regberadaisy: I’m bummed our invite didn’t work. I only have a few extra so I can only trial and error so many times before I’m SOL. I think our parents would love it though. It’s subtle enough to where it’s not blatently obvious that it’s all about our wedding but still a nice sentimental touch that will be nice to see once a year.

I’m bummed yours didn’t work! I want to try it for ours. After your experience I think I will split mine up before stripping then. It’s red cardstock sandwiched between vellum.

I’d def just buy off the registry because I’m sure they will have sets to finish and/or stuff that hasn’t been bought. As a bride-to-be, people have been asking for my registry info to use for the holidays and I’m pumped to give it to them!

I would just buy them registry gifts! I’m hoping that my grandparents and parents just get more stuff off the registry (they usually are semi clueless)

One of our favorite gifts was one of those picture frames that is like a collage and you can put in 12 different pictures, or whatever. It was awesome to have that to contribute to household decor (rather than having more stuff laying around), and we put wedding pictures in it.
I also like
@spaneshal: ‘s idea.

Also, I know as a newlywed I would love more “first christmas” or wedding ornaments! They have really cute ones with beaches!

I received alot of picture frames as gifts so unless you know forsure they need a picture frame I wouldn’t do that. I LOVE the idea of a 2011 christmas ornament with their names on it. Something very special and they will enjoy it for many years to come. I would stick to either Gold or Silver colours as it will work will with most tree decor. (Sorry, I’m picky when it comes to colours of decorations!lol)
