We agreed not to spend much on each other this year, since I'm still in nursing school & we're trying to save for the wedding.
I got him a back massager, the 1st season of King of Queens, and his favorite candle from Yankee Candle.. lol he loves candles :)
fyi-we aren't doing xmas either this year bc of the wedding!
I got Fi lindt chocolates to fill his stocking with along with deodorant, a gift card to itunes, lowes, for gas, a new razor head for his electric shaver along w/ the cleaning solution, and hand lotion (cuz his hands are SO dry this winter).
We aren't doing xmas this year because of the wedding, but my FIs favorite thing is a stocking full of silly toys and games. I usually go to Ebay for cheapo stuff like this, and I try to think of oddball things he likes, like stuff from Family Guy or little toys from his childhood. A couple years ago I bought a bunch of Burger King Kings playing football and he LOVE them. They cost me just a few bucks.
We aren't doing stockings this year, but usually I would do something like the following:
Individual Flavored Hot Cocoas
A bottle of wine
A magazine (with maybe a magazine subscription)
Socks or White v-necks
Lots of his favorite candy (Toffifay) & a Toblerone bar
Deodorant or other toiletries
That is so fun! I can't wait to do stockings with Mr. Smiling! :-) Here are some ideas I had:
- Pajama pants
- Bananagrams (if you like word games--this is an awesome one!)
- Skin care items
- Scarf/gloves/hat
- Cologne
- Ornament (I am all about giving an ornament for each year we've been together)
- Boxers
- Cozy blanket
Just a few ideas...hope these help!
We aren't doing stockings this year, but I got FI:
2 shirts from Target (thermal and flannel)
A book he wanted from Borders about the Navy
A bottle of his favorite cologne (that I scored on sale on Black Friday!!)
And Halo 3 cause he's getting an xbox from his parents which will be a total surprise!! :)

So my hubby and I try to find some way to keep Christmas interesting each year. Last year, since Christmas was 1 week after our wedding, we put a max of $20 on our gifts for each other. This year we bought stockings for each other and are filling them. I bought him a cute green crochet stocking from Target and have put 3 small books, a dish scrubber (lol), a Christmas ornament, and an A's jersey in it, but it still isn't full! Any suggestions for what other small bits I can put in?
What are you giving your SO for the holidays?
