Barf… I HATE LED lights.  They’re SO cold looking, and the slight flicker makes me feel like I’m having a stroke.

If they’re offerring you incandescent ones, I’d definitely go that way.

Not a fan of the LED kind especially if there are a lot. They make me dizzy for some reason.

I buy LED for my christmas tree, or for my own home us because they are suposse to last longer and be more energy efficient.  But for my wedding stuff I just bought what was cheap!  I don’t think anyone will notice the difference and the LED lights are more price-y.

I don’t know about photos, but in person the LEDs tend to be too bright and blinding

@Miss_Barbell:  If you’re buying them yourself, then you can look for the “warm white” ones which are much closer to traditional ones.  That way you get the best of both worlds, the nice warm look, and the energy efficiency.

Personally I really don’t like that LED/bluish hue that so many lighting specialists use. I was at a wedding over the summer and the ballroom was antique, with golds and pinks everywhere, the centerpieces were huge tall flowers in a martini glass (which was a little too modern for the room, I thought) but then inside the martini glass were LED/blueish lights and they just SO clashed with the rest of the decor. (I’m one to notice these things.) I think natural, warm candlelight is best and makes better ambiance than the fake blue lighting.

I’m glad someone already has started a poll on this topic. I want to BUMP this thread, given that we’re currently in the height of the Christmas/holiday season.

I know that the LED lights are SO much more energy efficient and cost-effective. However, I have to say, I am not a fan of them at all.  Most of the houses in our community have the standard, warm, yellow-toned Christmas lights, and they look beautiful.  A few of the homes have the LED lights, and they just look like really bad fluorescent lighting.

A win-win situation would be if technology progresses to the point that energy-efficient lighting could look much more like traditional lighting, and at a reasonable price point.
