Why is it so hard to come up with a Christmas list when you are pregnant?! Am I the only one?
I can’t think of too many things that I want/need that aren’t pregnancy related. There are a couple of perfumes that I want, but I can’t stand the smell of perfume right, so I don’t wear it. I think that it would be a waste to ask for it. Also, I can’t fit regular clothes, so no point in asking for any of those.
Quite a few things (more than 3/4) on my list are pregnancy related. Is that sad?

Seems natural to me. You are entering a new phase in your life and need things for that phase or things you want to use/need now.
As for other ideas… any household things you want/need? stuff for the kitchen? Or certificate for you and your DH to spend a night out together.

All of my family is hounding me for the same reason! I suck.. my only thing on my list is a hairdryer because mine is on it’s last legs! My husband said no baby related things on the Christmas list, because we will buy those things anyway and these gifts should be just for me.
I can’t think of a single other thing 🙁

My baby was born in August, and I’m the same way! Everything I think of that I want is stuff for him, not for me!
After a lot of effort, here’s what I came up with for my Christmas list, maybe it will serve as some inspiration:
- folding laundry drying rack (mainly to dry baby diapers!)
- another SD card for my camera (which is used mainly for baby pictures!)
- large (~12 quart) stock pot
- a new purse
- tanzanite stud earrings
- hairdryer (Like MrsSawyer, mine is needing to retire.)

Haha!! I just talked to my mom and she asked what I wanted for Christmas. I said nursing shirts and nightgowns. Seems lame but I do need those things.
@abbyful: Oh yes!! I need a new purse or maybe just a clutch that I can put in the diaper bag. : )

I had the same issue! My mom always forces my husband and I to make a Christmas list for her, haha she wants to baby everyone still. 🙂 I put down a good vaccuum cleaner since ours is a piece of crap, and a few kitchen items I’ve been needing, and my hubby put down an air purifier and some clothes. It was really hard to come up with things because all I can think of is all the stuff I’ll need for baby! Haha

I’m getting induced the 11th so I’m kinda on the same page. I asked DH for perfume and a shopping spree once I’m where I want to be weight wise. I just want a thing or two to open Christmas morning.

I think it is natural because… how can we not be so focused on LO! I don’t care about gifts for me! I just want to get to getting things for baby!

I actually didn’t ask for anything baby related! I asked for a watch, a necklace, a cookbook, some new headbands that I can wear to the gym, and a lululemon gift card so that I can buy some new clothes after baby arrives. I’ll be on mat leave for a year, so I figure I need more casual things than I currently have in my wardrobe and I’m not sure what will fit after baby!

@hergreenapples: ooooh…you did great with no maternity related stuff :0

@PrncssDva: Lol I’ve thought of this too! I can’t think of anything i really need for me. My sister texted me yesterday and said what do you want for xmas…I was like uhh nursing pads and nipple cream? lol
I did ask for a pedicure and manicure though. I’m due 2 weeks after xmas and would love to get my nails done before baby gets here because lord knows i wont have time after. I’d also really love to get my hair trimmed. Another thing I thought of was a nice dinner out with my husband. Something delicious and kind of fancy since I know date nights will be limited in the new year.

@totheislnds: LOL…@ nursing pads and nipple cream.
yeah, date nights might not happen for a little while, huh?
I did put nursing gowns, a Vera Bradley large tote (it’ll be used as my hospital bag too), paraffin max machine, a video camera (of crouse it’ll be used for the day of delivery and the baby), Sex in the City dvds, Scandal dvds, maternity long sleeved tops, and flat boots (since I can’t wear my heels too often now) on the list.

@totheislnds: Something to know is that if the hospital wants to use a monitor for your oxygen levels and pulse, sometimes they require you to take off nail polish. Natural nail colour can be monitored as well for the same reason… it would be so sad for you to have a new mani-pedi and then have them take it off!

@red_pepper_gal: That is really interesting! I had no idea they did that. Maybe i’ll wait until after baby gets here then.
