that's a good favor idea, most people will be able to use them. I like the clear ones, clear ornaments look great next to lights.
Both are pretty! They're less likely to break on the way home than a glass ball would be. Instead of putting the names on the ornament itself, put them on a hang tag that is attached to the ornament. Not everyone likes to display stuff with someone else's names on it, regardless of how much they may love the couple.
I agree with Ember. Put the name on a ticket not on the ornament itself. If they are engraved they will likely get thrown out after a year or two.
But a plain glass ornament will endure for many years.
if they were engraved i cant imagine i would through them out in a few years time but i really really like this as a favor - good idea
I really love this idea! And people will be able to use them forever :)
I agree with @Ember78: I wouldn't be adding something to my tree that was engraved with someone else's name. A clear, white or ivory ornament can blend in with anyone's decorating scheme.
We had ornaments as favors. They were handmade my by MIL and were starfish with some beads and other things glued to them for decoration (she makes them for a living). She also suggested not adding our name or anything to them so that people might actually use them!
This is SUCH a cute idea. I love the glass one.
Is an early Nov. wedding too early to have Christmas ornaments as favors? Just such a fun idea...
Well, I don't think early Nov. wedding is too early to have Christmas Ornaments.. Alot of people that I know start to put their trees up in Nov. So, I think it would be a good timing!
this is a cute idea! My cousin used this for her wedding favor a few years ago, and it is so nice putting it on the tree every year. except this year when we put the tree up later than usual and I realized I missed the date by a few days to wish them a happy anniversary, that is besides the point. she had their names and date put on a thicker ribbon that held a solid hollow heart. so that is another way to do them also. if the engraving costs a lot..i think that might be a less expensive route, but I'm not sure.
@brazilianbridezilla: Thanks! I will keep this in the back of my mind as a favor idea, then. And I like what PP said, that this way people will always remember to wish us happy anniversary (even if belated!)
I like them, but I don't like it with the couple's name and/or wedding date on them. Just my preference - i'd like a plain ornament. Great idea for a winter wedding (unless you have a lot of Jewish friends).

I'm helping my friend to do a last minute shopping on favors. The wedding will be held end of the year. So, I was thinking of personalized christmas ornaments. Instead of the word Merry Christmas and all, I was thinking about writting the bride and groom's names and date of their wedding.. What do you think?? I found it from this site: Personalized Ornaments
A glass ornaments or the ceremic ones??
