I JUST did all of my Christmas shopping tonight!! I didn't have anything I was going after, and we were kind of on a budget, but I had no problem finding things I needed for the right people! Good luck girl, I know it's going to be CRAZY!
Thanks, I'm going to need it! It's so good to hear that you managed to find everything you needed on a budget!
i'll be there tomorrow... we are on a really tight budget (M got laid off and my only source of income is my business)... I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that we can go to the wal-mart tonight while they aren't incredibly busy to get the kids' gifts... My mom overnighted a huge amount of gifts via UPS so I should have them tomorrow to wrap for my little ones... M and I aren't doing gifts this year well major gifts. I'll probably try to get him a hat and a scarf or something like that. Maybe some new socks and undies lol...
Nope. You aren't alone. I did all of my shopping this week. I was in school and that just ate up so much time for me that I can't shop, do cards, or anything until my finals are over.
I'm with you! I actually did my shopping yesterday, but hey, what's one day's difference? It was crazy in the mall, but the deals are still in full swing. Good luck!
Is there anyone NOT on a budget right now in this economy? I'm in college AND just paid for FI's engagement ring last month (I proposed), so I'm just hoping that everything won't be so picked over that I'll be forced to go out of budget, because I really, really don't have it.
Good luck with your shopping, everyone who still needs to do it!
I'm right there with ya ! I'll be going tomorrow to get last minute stocking stuffers for the kids...!!! then get to come home to clean before the kids trash it again!
I'll be out shopping tomorrow, too. Things are not terribly tight for us, but at the same time, it makes me nervous to splurge on stuff in this economy. Especially with the wedding so close.
I'm kind of scared of going to the mall tomorrow. Wish I hadn't left it so late...
Happy shopping!
P.S. Veganglam - love your name. I'm vegan, too.
Yay! So happy to see another vegan here :) Good luck with your shopping.
Sounds dangerous to me! Be careful not to be elbowed to death at the mall! King of Prussia mall right?
Haha yep :) It's a madhouse even when it's NOT the holidays...I am a bit afraid for my physical safety, heh.
you're better then me, most of the people on my list won't be getting their gifts until AFTER the holidays so I haven't even shopped yet. Mostly because i have to work xmas eve and xmas day so I won't be seeing anyone during the holidays but good luck!
I'm going to be out doing the same thing tomorrow - it should be interesting if nothing else!
I went to Wal-mart at like 5 am this morning :D. It was glorious!! No crowds, no lines!! AND they had almost everything I was looking for... I was able to get M's daughter her pink Nintendo DS (score!! Her daddy doesn't know about it because it was over the limit of cash to spend on her shhh)... M's son got the action figures that he wants and a few other things, and my son got the DS that he wanted, all of his video games except one and I'd gotten him his art set earlier in the year... He wanted a bike too, but since he's on punishment that had to wait.
M and I will get nada for each other for christmas :(.. LOL!!! We are broke... I may be able to find him something inexpensive like a hat or scarf but that's about it.
@crebre80 - Aww. That's so sweet. Christmas is so much more fun when there are kids around. I'm sure they'll love those presents!
It's 5:50 am where I am now, on the west coast. I don't think I'll go for another few hours, though. I only have two gifts left to buy, so I'm trying to think strategically before I go...
@bubbly: christmas is so much more EXPENSIVE when kids are around... If M knew what I spent... lol!!! His daughter really wanted the DS though and I just didn't have the heart for my son to have one and she not get one (my parents bought my son's for him)... I'm definitely of the opinion not even to put who each gift is from so they can just open them and have fun, of course i'll put a few from my mom but the rest are just from us :D... it's so fun shopping for a little girl. I got her a cute pair of shoes and a cute little outfit and some fun girlie stuff. The boys got very boy stuff. I bought my son this t-shirt that has binoculars a watch and a compass on it (he's going to pass out) lol and they each got a dvd as a stocking stuffer and I'll probably go back out and get them some type of candy or something like that.... but i'm sooo happy i was able to get everything. i was worried (hence the grumpy mood yesterday).
Oh, me too! I didn't get to before now, so I have to cram shopping in this week. I went and got some stuff for da' hubs last night, and was shocked at how NOT crowded the stores were... I guess the economy is really hitting people hard, or they were smarter than me and got it done earlier.
I still have to finish buying for him, his mother and father - and I'm done! Call me crazy, but I'm heading out at 7am on Christmas Eve to finish it up!
My only advice is get there first thing in the morning! And have a list! And don't take a big purse, lol.
I know lots of people who do their shopping last minute....it's doable. have some caffeine before hand =]
I have to finish up my shopping today and tomorrow. I will supposedly be getting off of work at 2, so I'll head over to target and run home because we're doing gift exchange TONIGHT here, then tomorrow I'll finish up anything I don't get to for the rest of my family (like I know my brother wants me to pick up a video game for him). and I have to pack for my mom's. I'm excited :)
it occurred to me i should get something for the BF's parents so off to the races I go, again... no not crazy but you gotta do what ya gotta do. i think crebre had the best advice! speak softly and carry a big stick ;)
I always say i'm going to get my shopping done early and never do! Now i have today and tomorrow to finish as well
Good Luck! I walked into Borders last night to pick up a book and left without it because I could barely get into the store! Just breathe and have lots of patience and a bottle of wine waiting for you when you get home!

Has anyone ever done this? Because of school timing this year, I have to do ALL of my Christmas shopping tomorrow, and worse, I'm going to the second-largest shopping mall in the country. I already know it's going to be madness because I called up a jewelry store today to see if they had something in stock and the woman who answered sounded like she was out of breath or about to have a heart attack before putting me on hold for *twenty five minutes*!
Have you ladies done it before? Did you get any great steals, or was everything miserably picked over and you ended the day in frustration and agony?
