The only problem I’ve come into is fall leaves and gourds! I am having a Halloween wedding, not fall leaves and gourds.

That stinks.  Sometimes it seems hard for people to follow directions.  But, I have to admit, when I read the title of your post, I thought snowflakes 😛

That is so odd! When I read the title I thought poinsettias, pine trees, Yule logs, wreaths, and round ornaments. Snowflakes didn’t even cross my mind!

Oh do I ever feel your pain. Our wedding is in January in New England, and I’ve received comments, pictures, you name it for blue, silver, and white. People have even said, “oh, January? Are you doing navy or Tiffany blue?” It’s a lovely look I’m sure, but… our colors are evergreen and cream with gold and brown accents, since the atmosphere plan is warm, romantic, snuggle-in-an-elegant-lodge. Frankly, I’m pale and blonde, so the whole ice queen thing isn’t on the agenda. And snowflakes? Not so much.

@mishelleez:

Oh, I am sorry!  If you have round tables, I wonder if you could get Christmas Tree Skirts to use, and then put your centerpiece in the middle? They would likely be the same, but I bet you could find them for your theme.  It sounds wonderful!!!

What about getting vintage Christmas children’s books, and using the illustrations as part of your table numbers?

There is also a semi-annual paper show that’s held at the Holiday Inn on Riverside Drive/the Turnpike in Portland, I’ve gone to it a few times and they always have TONS of vintage postcards, of every theme, including Christmas. I don’t know if they are having a show before your wedding, but the hotel would probably know, it’s always held there.

You could probably also find cool Christmas postcards on Ebay – what exactly would you like to do with them? It sounds like an awesome idea! Give me some more details, and I’ll look online for you too! 🙂

@mishelleez:

I think the pattern that I linked to is a free one, and has pictures of things like the rings.  I hope it helps.  🙂

I completely understand! I’m having a winter wedding too, but I don’t want snowflakes. My wedding color is dark green! I want holly and mistletoe and wreaths! Not cheesy snowflakes!

Honestly, if you already have centerpieces you could just print out “5  Golden Rings”  in really pretty font on pretty paper and I think it would be lovely.
