I actually just posted something about this in another thread. I wore the spanx (higher power I think it's called?) that has the shorts under my dress. It kept my thighs from rubbing together, loved it. I also wear it under dresses when I go out.
Another option, which you'd have to test out to see, is getting a Anti Chaffing stick like this: http://www.rei.com/product/800984 I've never used it, but it seems like it might be a good alternative to spanx!
I use baby powder or you could try something like this. As a bonus, the anti chafing gel is also a great make up primer.
Did you have any problems with trying to get it down and back up in the restroom? I know, weird question, I just don't want to spend 20 minutes trying to get the thing back together! LOL
I have never heard of it for a make-up primer! Thanks!
@Beth2010: Mrs. Rainbow actually wrote a post about it awhile ago, that's how I found out!
The anti-chafing sticks are ok, but I would also recommend spanx....they're kind of annoying, but they really do suck your fat in. I wear the shorts ones under dresses to suck in my thigh fat/avoid chub rub and they're great! They have them at Lane Bryant, and I'm sure places like Macy's too...Target has a cheaper version called Assets or something that are made by the same company, but not as high quality, although my sister has gotten those before and they worked fine.
I wore Spanx shorts, as well as a corset under my dress.
@Beth2010:"Did you have any problems with trying to get it down and back up in the restroom?"
Spanx have a pee hole!! Haha, just an fyi :) :)
@ENarcy:WHAT?!? My spanx don't have a pee hole!!!! Now I'll have to get another pair!!!
My Spanx didn't have a pee hole, but I had no problem getting them up and down.. Definitely prevented me from worrying about it all night!
I'm weird and don't pee when I'm busy and/or excited. I didn't pee while I had my dress on.
My spankx have a pee hole too. I wasn't goint to write that because I felt like others weren't mentioning it for a reason
"Spanx have a pee hole!! Haha, just an fyi :) :)"
That is awesome!! I will have to check those out. I just know it was a pain as a bridesmaid to hold up my friends dress so she could go! Haha!
Thanks for the link! I'll definetly have to check it out!
Thank you girls so much!
I wore spanx (and a long-line bra, in a corseted dress) and I was VERY concerned about being able to get them off and on to pee. But-- I did it! And all by myself with no help too... yay! :)
Big fan of Sport Shield. It's a silicone-based roll on. I use it on my feet when running to prevent blisters. I also rub it on my feet when I'm wearing heels w/ no stockings. Totally works.
And it's great for the thighs too. My mom uses it on her arms when she runs to prevent chafing/blistering where her arm hits her clothes.
I bought spanx, but after wearing them for a few nights out, I realized I really didn't want that much compression all day. In short it was my wedding day and I wanted to feel comfortable.
So I bought these: http://www.luvees.com/Store/LuveesStore/Products/Luvees-Panty-Coverall-(all-in-one)__SKU2020.aspx and I love them! They are very comfortable and nice and cool.
Yes, Spanx have pee hole, but I *ahem* have a hard time peeing through it! lol I just end up pulling it down to avoid accidents!
i use gold bond... love it! and it adds a bit of "coolness" and is much more comfortable.
SPANX!!!! Love them and would be lost without them! I had no idea that they came with a pee whole! I'm not sure that I would be able to go that route since I wear my undies under them anyway. Plus, that would just be too weird for me.
I don't find them constricting at all. I bought mine in the perfect size to allow "smoothness" but not so tight that it cut off circulation or shaped me in ways that are unnatural.
If I don't wear Spanx, then I wear nylons or shorts. I hate rubbing thighs and chaffing is no bueno.
I wore the high-waisted Assets (lower end Spanx at Target). They cost under $20, it came all the way up to my ribcage and sucked me in everywhere. I didn't have a "pee" issue because I changed into a reception dress later and peed while I was changing. The chaffing gels only work for a while before they wear off.
I wore spanx like so many others, though I did have to pull mine down to use the restroom. However it wasn't all that difficult because I made some of bridesmaids help keep the dress up in the restroom. That's what they are there for! LOL
This stuff is AMAZING and is actually the same exact ingredient as smashbox face makeup primer! Who knew? it's SOOO much cheaper!

I know it sounds weird but use deodorant to avoid chub rub. I use it almost all summer long when im wearing dresses or shorts... it totally works!
I knew it would be hot and sweaty down there, so I used the body glide I usually use for running between my legs. Much better!
Secondly, I don't understand why this is chub rub... even when I was 110 pounds soaking wet, I've just never had hips set wide enough for my legs to NOT rub terribly. I think it's just the way some people are built :)
Spanx have pee pee holes? Like, what do you mean? I bought these super high waisted nude biker shorts, and they didn't have a pee hole. Neither did the Assests I bought at Target, which are WILDLY uncomfortable, they are just like tights that rub and burn my thighs... I can barely sit in my dress, how the heck am I gonna pee! I have a squirrel bladder!
lol some spanx do have a pee hole.... its not easy to pee out of though... especially after a few drinks.. lol i know from experience! :(
Oh my gosh... That's so funny, so what, you just pee all over yourself if you can't make the hole? LOL.
i had spanx shorts with a pee hole. I pee a lot..always have. SOOO..I had to pee a lot. I took them off after pictures. They were a pain in the butt. going pee was hard enough. I did not use the pee hole it gave me the creeps...plus I was wearing underwear...
all these pee-hole comments are hilarious, but like pp have said, i would try a gel. body glide, which is for runners, is awesome. i use it to prevent chaffing with my clothes when running. you can find it at any running store, or something close to it. if you don't want to wear spanx i think that would be perfect!
I plan on wearing biking shorts (as in bicycles). They are slick so they wont feel to funny and since it gets pretty hot under my skirt (seriously! my legs were sweating just during the hour and half I was standing there during my fitting!) it will help soak up some of that awkward uncomfortable sweat and will help avoid chafing. Nobody will see it except me and Mr. Hedgie and when I told him about it he just giggled and assumed thats what all women did anyway.
Seriously, this stuff is amazing! I use it all the time and haven't had any problems even with sweating. In fact, I don't think I've ever had to re-apply in any given day. I had no idea about the primer, I'm totally trying it out.
I'm definately a fan of spanx but I've always been too nervous with the pee holes so I just end up having to pull them down LOL.

So I don't know how you ladies feel, but I carry all my weight in my belly and thighs. I have a corset for the belly, but I don't know what to do about my legs. I'm afraid with all the dancing and things that my legs are goign to sweat and cause "chub rub"! I don't want to wear nylons because I have open toed shoes.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I was think about bicycle shorts, but then I thought about what problems that may cause going to the restroom.
Please help! Tanks Bees!
