My fiancee was in a wedding this weekend and really complained about the tux shoes he wore and how uncomfortable they were. I have seen in some weddings the guys wearing chuck taylors, and mentioned this to my FI. Well, he LOVED the idea and wants to give his groomsmen the chucks as their gifts. What does everyone think of this idea? I’m somewhat scared that I might regret this decision in our photos 20 years down the road, but I want my FI to have some say in his attire and the wedding in general (he’s not telling me what to wear, you know). So, what do you think?

I think its a great idea…we are doing this also!

I say go for it if that’s what he wants to do. My guy will most likely be wearing sneakers too. He hates dress shoes, no matter what kind he buys he’s always uncomfortable in them. I’d much prefer him to be comfortable on our wedding day. 🙂

My FI is demanding to wear black Chucks to the wedding. Either that or another style of black sneakers. It’s his "thing"!

I personally really like this idea! It’ll make for some great photo ops!
If you go onto their website you can even create personalized Chuck Taylors with your initials or wedding date! Might make a cute grooms gift if your groom’s party are into Chuck Taylors as well.
I was considering doing this for the GM but they are not Converse kinda guys so the shoes will just not get reworn after the wedding. But I am thinking of getting them for the FGs and RBs!

I think it is a fabulous idea! It allows him to put a little of himself in the wedding. Also, he will be spending just about the same amount of money for the rented shoes so he might as well be comfy and look great.
My FI actually wants to wear the tux shoes. I am contemplating buying custom made chucks for my shoes. They are my favorite shoe so why not include them in my wedding, ya know?!

Chuck Taylor’s have been around forever, so I’m willing to bet in 20 years they’ll still be here. I love the idea of the guys getting to wear fun shoes too. My husband and his groomsmen wore Rainbow flip flops, and we recieved nothing but compliments (especially from those who thought it was going to look funny before hand). I say go with it and let the boys show their personality, too!

I say do it~my FH is a huge sports fan, and absolutely loves the great Michael Jordan. So, on our wedding day, he will be wearing his fave pair of Jordan’s, and his men will be wearing a different style of Jordan’s. It looks awesome!! I don’t think you will regret it; be different!
