@kirabee:  60 X 70 rectangle, 8 feet by 8 feet, 6′ x 6′. However, they can range from just enough to cover the couple to ones that allow the rabbi, parents, and entire wedding party to fit under them.

Ours was 8′ by 8′.  But they can be as small as just a tallit.  It depends on a) the space available, and b) how many people you want to have standing underneath.

i am borrowing the chuppah structure from a friend and using my father’s talit as the covering.

since both of our father’s have passed away our mothers will be walking us down the aisle.  they will stand up there with us.

the bridal party will be outside the the chuppah, but our mothers will be inside, if not slightly outside.  i don’t know how big it is, my friend thinks it is about 5 ft x 5 ft.

@kirabee:  We had our attendants and the rabbi under the chuppah with us.  There would have been room for a lot more if we’d wanted to.  Here is a picture of it with all of us under there.

We’re going to make ours 5′ * 5′ with only us and the rabbi under it. The ceremony is going to be at my parents’ house, so we can’t make it much bigger. I think we’re going for 6.5′ tall.

@NewYorkLady:  Ours was 8′ x 8′.  (I had actually said that in an earlier reply.)  The center of the chuppah was 8′ tall.  The edges were shorter than that, plus (as you can see in the photo) there was fabric that came down from the “roof” a bit, so the edge was just barely tall enough for my son (who is 6’2″) to go under without stooping.
