So we booked today our church for the ceremony. It is a very special place for both of us.In the heart of Amsterdam in the old city, the city that my husband was born.Everything was fine I like the place,I want it so we booked it.However today when we came home and wathced the pictures I took of the church inside I realised…. How will I fit with my dress with my father at the side down the aisle?
Is it silly of me to think about it?Does anyone have any idea? There are not possible way to move the banches….
What should I do?Change the dream dress for a tiny dress?
I don;’t want to change the church because it is so special for both of us 🙁

I know it looks tiny, but my friend had to go down an aisle the same size with a crazy big skirt, and it worked out just fine. I think her dress brushed the sides of the aisle a little bit and her dad had to be careful not to step on it, but it worked out. Beautiful church, btw!

@HappierKate Thank you for your replay it is good to hear that brides have done it before.I think tho will be a bit stressfull to not brush away the decorations from the sides when I walk to him and all people are watching :))

Perhaps you can check with your contact at the church. They’ve probably dealt with this before and can suggest positions for the decorations that won’t be disturbed by the walk to the altar. Honestly, though, it’s such a beautiful church that it doesn’t really need much in the way of decoration. Your wedding will be lovely.

Had the same issue with my church! I originally wanted both parents to walk me down the aisle, which would have been impossible. I agree, talk to someone at the church…the wedding lady assured me that my dad and I would have been able to walk together, even though my dad was quite large. Didn’t end up happening, as my dad died a few months before the wedding, but Darling Husband and I walked down together just fine. I also skipped any pew decorations just to err on the safe side–I don’t think anyone missed them.
