At 2 years out, I would just change your colors! Maybe you could do olive, ivory, and gold- that would go fine with the blue

Ugh! That’s exactly why I had to nix the church of my dreams. They were predicting a renovation for the winter and warned that there may or may not be paint tarps and temporary chairs when I wanted to get married… The church we have now selected is all dark red, and our colors are plum/ivory. Ugghh. But it’s for such a short time, I just don’t dwell on it. So for 40 minutes my plum girls won’t look as fabulous as I hoped. Whatever.

Honestly, I would just leave it. You are still going to get the blue in the backdrop/stage even if you try to cover the aisle. I don’t think it will be too bad. That church is GORGEOUS!

What color were you planning for maids? I think olive green dresses would be fine against the blue rug.

Well you arent going to be having the reception in that room, so the decorations are probably going to be pretty minimal. Especially with a church like that, you dont want to cover up the look of the church. Just some simple cream colored flowers would look nice.

@kajan457:  People have come to see you two get married; they won’t care or remember what colour the carpet was. I wouldn’t worry about it.

@kajan457:  Stay with the colours you love. Most of your photos won’t be in the church anyway.

Every church has weddings with all sorts of colours over the years. Pretty well any bridesmaid dress can work in any church.

I wouldn’t worry about this at all. The church I go to has light blue, office-like carpeting. Not my favorite, but I’m still imagining getting married there in 2015. You can still use the same colors, no one will think you are wrong with your color choice. Besides, that church is beautiful!!

Well,  I couldn’t tell you what color the carpet in the church I go to weekly are,  I wouldn’t worry about it. People know you have no control over the carpet in the church and most likely wont even notice.

@kajan457:  Copper, brown and olive green all look great with royal blue! I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
