I have been looking at Catholic & Anglican churches in Australia (happy to PM location & more specific church details to you) and have got the following prices:
Catholic #1: $965
Catholic #2: $1193
Anglican: $1285
Wow Novella yours are really expensive... I'm getting married in a country Anglican church and the cost is $500... Plus $44 for the pre marital counselling our priest wants us to do.
I'm in the Wangaratta diocese of Victoria, you're welcome to PM if you have any questions :) we've had a really good experience with our church so far.
@miss.alice.m: It's because of where we live and also that they are heritage churches. I have expensive taste :-) One of the other local Catholic Churches asks for $600 but the others have more meaning for me because of factors like @Jacqui90: mentioned in her original post.
@Jacqui90: I'm a little late, but we picked an old sandstone church in Sydney and it cost us $600. You then ususally give your priest a donation, too.
@Jacqui90: we are getting married in the old style Anglican church (ie stone & stained glass, heritage building) and its costing us $900 it that includes all flowers at the church & organist.
that's great everyone thanks :)
@jaguar: you are definitely not late, it will be ages until we even meet with the minister :P
i am glad to see these places are the price they are, i always thought they would be a lot more expensive!
Church #1 fee: $750
Church #2 fee: $1500
Donation to priest: $450

Hi everyone,
The one part of my wedding I have always dreamed of is getting married in the church my maternal grandparents and my parents were married, and my aunt, sister and I were christened. It is an Anglican church, and I was wondering how much they usually cost? I am posting this in the Australia board so I get Australian prices :)
