Are you looking for an active church or a church building?
If you're willing to go a few more miles (I think it's 15) we were married at the Rose Chapel and they were/are wonderful to work with. I believe petals are okay just rice is not for tossing. They have an organ which according to officiant does work but we used recorded music (two hymns and then appalachian spring and a song from up). It was an active church but it's now a preservation center.
Good Luck!

HELP!
My FH has specified as 1 of his 2 requests that we be married in a church. We're having the reception (absolutely solid, I wont budge) at the absolutely gorgeous Sanford House in Arlington, Tx. We're both casually Methodist, but the absolutely perfectly located/beautiful Methodist church next door, First United Methodist Arlington, has 12 pages of policies and rules that really seem to douse the flames of excitement. Absolutely no throwing of any and all objects like confetti or petals, no pre-recorded music (there goes my "At last") and all music has to specifically reference the role of God in your relationship and finding each other. Plus 11 other pages. I'm struggling because I want the church to be reasonably close to the venue....
Have any of you DFW Bee's gotten married at this church? Are they really THAT serious about this policy list, or is it more of a formality and there is wiggle room?
Any other Bee's have good experiences with Methodist or Non-denominational churches/chapels within 5-10 miles that would hold 100+ people?
