Cincinnati brides: where are you getting your cake?

The previous thread about Cincinnati wedding cakes is pretty dated, and I think there are some newer Cincinnati brides on the 'bee now (including prairiedog!).

So, tell me, where are you getting your cake?

This is one thing I'm struggling with right now, as we're having a larger guest list and honestly just don't have it in the budget to pay a ton per serving. Cake isn't my first priority, so we're putting our money elsewhere. :)

I'm not sure if you're open to cupcakes, but that's what we're doing.  We're getting them from Abby Girl Sweets downtown.  I believe they were $2.15 each plus delivery.  You can choose as many flavors as you like, and they have tons of delicious options.

My sister did her cake from Sweet Things Bakery.  It was absolutely gorgeous and SO delicious!  I blogged about it here:

    Good luck!

We're doing a cake buffet with Bluebird Bakery in Glendale...omg, that cake. We've gone back for individual pieces TWICE since booking them last month, hehe :) I wanted several small-ish cakes anyway and was surprised/pleased that it saved us money- a lot, in fact! Plus it allows us lots of flavor options and a beautiful display with different cake stands. We also love "Take the Cake" and The Bonbonerie :)

@asdf: Very cool! I'll keep it in mind, though I think FI isn't super into cupcakes.

    @mssocks: I just sent you a PM!

@prairiedog: Thank you for the suggestions! I'd never thought about doing multiple small cakes. Something to think about!

I know this is late - but we thought Take the Cake and BonBonerrie were pricey (delicious! but pricey) Servatii's was much cheaper and allowed for multiple flavors. However, we haven't made a final decision - this was FI's job, not mine.

I have also heard good things about North College Hill Bakery - I think it is called.

We found a fantastic deal at Diane's Cake Candy and Cookie Supply. So we're set. But thank you all for the recommendations!

    If anyone's interested, here's the URL: http://www.dianescccs.com/

We went on a tasting, and it was delicious. :)

We did taste testings with Tres Belle Cake and Marylin's Cake.  Both tasted really great.  The cake was fresh and the icing wasn't too sweet.  I really recommend any of them.

We went with Servatii European pastries because we're having an ethnic Vietnamese wedding and our guests like the European merinque taste moreso than traditional buttercream.  It's on par with The BonBonnerie but for a better price, I think.

I had my cake testing yesterday, and I'm going to go with Spoon Fulla Sugar.  Their chocolate cake with chocolate mousse was amazing!  Since I'm probably going to have a three tier cake, we're going to do one chocolate layer with chocolate mousse, one white layer with raspberry filling and one layer of their Hummingbird Cake, which is just like the most delicious banana bread you've ever had in cakje form.

Just discovered this Cincinnati board and sooooooo excited about it!

We're going with Sweet Water Bakehouse. The cake was absolutely DELICIOUS and fantastically priced, plus Becca was very accomdating and helped us fine tune what we wanted from our cake. :)

We had planned to try other vendors (BonBonerie, Spoon Fulla Sugar) but they never called us back.

I am getting my cake from Servatii! They are the only place to get your cake! They listen to their brides! Plus their prices are very very reasonable! Good Luck!
