We are getting married May 5, 2012. I’m working on save the dates now. I thought it would be cute to take a picture of us and add a sombero hat to Fiance and a couple margarita glasses. Now I’m worried our guests will think our wedding is going to be cinco de mayo themed. It’ll be a laid back fun wedding with hopefully some margaritas but thats about it. Nothing too cinco de mayo.
What would you think if you got a cinco de mayo wedding STD? Would you think the wedding was themed or that it was just a fun save the date to help people remember?
Thank you for your help! I’ve been going back and forth with this.

Hey wedding twin!! I don’t think having a Cinco de Mayo themed STD will throw people off. We aren’t having a Cinco de Mayo theme, however, we have talked about having a late night nacho bar as a sort of nod to the day.

Personally I would assume it was Cinco de Mayo themed. I would probably go with a look closer to the theme of the wedding, and maybe serve margaritas as a signature drink or something if you want to acknowledge teh holiday.

I wouldn’t take a picture with a margarita and sombero if the wedding isn’t Cinco de Mayo themed. Might give your guests the wrong impression.

I wouldn’t assume it was a cindo de mayo themed wedding. I used save the dates as fun element to our wedding stationary..I would just assume you were doing the same thing! It is the one place where you are not bound by ettiquette and you can do something fun! I think you should totally do it!

I might be confused by the cinco de mayo theme as well.

Hi date twin! I decided against doing anything Cinco de Mayo themed because I didn’t want to confuse my guests either. I might do a signature margarita or something but nothing more than that.
Maybe you could use that photo somewhere at the reception. Near the bar or the guestbook maybe?
