I did something like this for my best friend (a fiesta bridal shower). We had a delicious authentic mexican food buffet, a chocolate fountain, a piñata, and played limbo for one of the shower games. We made big colorful paper flowers and had string lights for decorations. And cactus centerpieces. For favors, I did handpainted maracas with bf's name and date of shower, and tied a packet of mexican coco to it. Everyone had a blast and me and the other bridesmaids got so many compliments on how it stood out from other showers. I say go for it!

LOVE IT!
One of my showers is going to have an intentionally cheesey french theme. :]

Ladies,
I just wondered what you thought of a wedding shower with a Cinco de Mayo theme? Is that a weird theme for a shower? The shower will probably be on either May 1 or 8, so that's what made me think of it. I'm a Spanish teacher, so it might be appropriate. However, we aren't likely to be able to afford a Mexico honeymoon.
What do you think?
