Hi Bees! Just came to give a quick run-down of my three day trip to Italy.
Sorry for the gigantic pictures, too tired to resize (at least it is what I tell myself, but I don’t ever resize).
Pisa-Not much to see/do except the Leaning Tower and the complex. Take a half day to snap pictures and wander around, grab a bite to eat, and move on!
Cinque Terre- The trail is a MUST. Seriously, you get all the best views (except for by boat, I didn’t do that, but there are good views that way) and the trail is gorgous. I would recommend Italy in the off season.
Florence- I found myself here on a whim, and am so glad I went! I don’t like doing lots of museums, so the Academia was just right. Lots to do there, so book a few days!

Oh, I forgot to say: The public transportation is well connected in the cities (buses) and between towns (trains). Things don’t really run on time, but they have lots of options!

your pictures are beautiful. we went to italy for our honeymoon. we heard pisa wasn’t worth it so we didn’t go. we did not see cinque terre, but we knew it was beautiful from DH’s aunt’s pictures.
we started in venice, florence, rome, then naples. we only stayed in naples. we took 2 day trips. 1 to capri and 1 to pompei and the amalfi coast.
DH wants to go back for our 25th wedding anniversay. we will probably go to cinque terre then.
as beautiful as the amalfi coast was florence was our favorite.

ajillity81: Yeah, the only reason I saw Pisa is because I flew into their airport, so it was convenient. Otherwise, I wouldn’t go out of the way for it. The town is pretty run down and not charming.
