Why not a short white dress, or a cute white suit, a la wartime brides of the 1940s? If you’re into that look, I mean. Civil ceremonies are short and sweet so clothing doesn’t really matter quite as much, especially if you’re having the big wedding later.

Have you checked out Modcloth? They always have a bunch of cute dresses.  www.modcloth.com

I realize you posted this a week ago, and therefore you probably have already found something to wear, but I am doing a similar wedding here in just a few weeks with the bigger wedding for March (when my bro gets home from Afghanistan.) and I am just wearing a simple blush pink strapless dress. I wanted to save my “white” gown for the bigger wedding. But this is different enough, but I still feel bridal in it. Just a suggestion!

So this post has been dead for another week, but have you looked at rent the runway?

Designer dresses can be rented for 50+ dollars, they constantly update their stock with new stuff. I’ve used them a few times for weddings and they’re great.

I had this same problem for my CO wedding. I know that I was going to wear Ivory or white for the second one and I just wanted to wear something a bit different for the CO. A good suggestion is to probably go to David’s Bridal and get a bridesmaid dress on sale. That’s what I did. I chose a black 1950s styled short dress with a full red petticoat and a small red jacket (I bought these two other items online). It was a fun dress that I knew I would wear later.

I would wear a fun pink cocktail dress, most likely with a fun (maybe feathered) skirt and some sexy heels! good luck!
