I have been searching for this recipe for awhile..
ok.. back story! My SO’s mother used to make this for his bday. He can’t remember what was in it!! He knows it was a red sauce and canned clams..
He was born and grew up in California but his mother was born in Germany and raised in Illinois. I don’t know if this was a family recipe or a regional one.
Any help would be welcomed!

Do you mean linguine with red clam sauce?

I’ve had clams with linguini in arrabiata sauce. I’ve also had them in a white wine sauce but sounds like that’s not what he had. Arrabiata sauce is like a slightly spicy tomato-based sauce, you could buy it off the shelf and give it a try.

I’m not sure. I don’t feel like it would be a hard recipe. Finding recipes are time consuming because everyone puts their touches on things. It could have been made with linguine but maybe she used spaghetti instead. That’s what they call it, He of course is 10 years older than his siblings and none of them remember it *sigh*

@Sigyn: I don’t think it’s unusual to swap different types of noodles into dishes, so I wouldn’t get hung up on it. I switch noodles all the time.

- Wedding: Either Philadelphia City Hall or a small chapel.
I just call it spaghetti and clams (though you can use angel hair, linguine, or whatever kind of macaroni). It comes canned in either a white or red sauce (Progresso makes it along with a few other companies, usually an Italian or seafood one.) You just heat it on the stove and pour it over the cooked pasta.
Here is a recipe for a homemade version, though, if you really wanna go from scratch.

@MissFormaldehyde: Thank You!! I never knew it came in a can? I will look for it next time I go shopping. Is it a soup or a sauce?
Thanks for the recipe, I will probably be makinga few different ones until I can find the one that tastes right to him.
