Claw or round prongs? Will claws snag? Are round prongs more secure?

@lavenderstone:  I think the claw prongs really upgrade a round solitaire!!! I love them. I dont have them so I cant speak to snagging, but I have never heard that. I have little heart prongs. They dont snag 🙂 Good luck!!

I prefer the look of claw prongs. Not sure about the snagging though.

@lavenderstone:  Thanks! We copied the idea from Ritani (but I wanted four prongs like you and they only offer six). 🙂

I love the claw prongs, but have no idea if they would snag. I have normal round prongs, and have not snagged it on anything yet.

I’ve had both and it really doesn’t matter either way.  I haven’t had major snagging with either.  I do like the look of the claw on the pic you provided!

@lavenderstone:  I have a custom ring with 4 claw prongs and the jeweler made them really close on top of the stone. I’ve never snagged anything and I’ve only noticed a bit of fuzz once underneath. I’ve also never caught my hair in them or anything.

^Pic shows that there is a bit of a gap between stone and prong. I’ve had it for only a few weeks though. I just prefer the look of claw prongs over posts.

My claw prongs rarely catch on anything, there is sometimes fuzz under them, but no more than rounded prongs on my other rings. I love claws so much, they’re gorgeous.

Claw prongs are a lot more flattering to a stone. Mine have never caught on anything.

@lavenderstone:  I think claw prongs are a little more secure, look really nice and any prongs will snag. I just take my ring off to change my shirt or put on a jacket (I do not have claw prongs)
