I just started using the First Response ovulation test, if anyone has feedback on that brand as well! So far, I’ve used it as per the instructions but haven’t had a positive test.

Daisylovex3:  Depending on how many you bought would really dictate on when you start. I started on CD 10 and would test in the afternoon…as it got closer to my O date then I would start testing two times a day like 10 am and 5pm

Daisylovex3:  The instructions said to start taking it about 10 days after your period stops, as that is a few days before you would ovulate.  So that’s what I did, but I wonder now if I missed it because I waited?

If you have a 28 day cycle I’d recommend starting on CD9-10. I like mine but occasionally have gotten a flashing smiley early followed by empty circle, followed by flashing smiley again. This means we get some extra BD in I guess!!

livelaughlove628:  Good to know, thanks 🙂 I’m not at the end of the “9 day test cycle” yet, so fingers are crossed I get a positive result so I can try and predict timing a bit better!

Daisylovex3:  I bought a BBT at CVS, just CVS brand, but honestly have never used it.  I’ve been sticking to the ovulation monitor and it’s been working great for us.  We’ve gotten pregnant 2 out of 3 cycles just by that (lost both early, obviously totally unrelated to the monitor).

I use the monitor first pee of the day- whenever that is.  The problem is that one time I got up to pee and fell back asleep- monitor results were gone by the time I woke up again! 🙂

Good luck!

Daisylovex3:  there was this chart in the package with my clear blue digital OPK’s.

Amusingly I bought the 20 pack and these were the exact instructions with it, but on their website, this is the instruction sheet for the 7 pack and the 20 pack says start CD 9.  http://m.clearblueeasy.com/digital-ovulation-test-instructions.php

i started day 6 (way early lol) because it was my first cycle testing and I didn’t want to miss it. Got my first + on CD 15, and then three days of + in a row, which is apparently not typical.  I used First pee of the day (FMU) I guess most people get 1-2 +’s a month. Come join us on the charters of the hive and POAS threads!

Daisylovex3:  oh and I have the target Up&Up brand BBT. It’s by the regular thermometers and it’s the pink one. I found it at my local target and didn’t order online but the other target in my town didn’t have any.

It works fine, mine came auto set to Celsius and I forgot to change it so I just charted that way all month. It does beep when it’s done, but it does not light up. For like $8, I can live with that and just use my phone flashlight.

i use the fertility friend app to chart and it’s very easy to use. Within the app there’s a link to an kindle book/PDF about charting and it was very helpful to read

Daisylovex3:  I know what you mean. I didn’t temp or test the first two months off BC cause I really thought it would happen right away! I’ve been on prenatals since April and even did some preconception bloodwork…I am so ready to just get this show on the road! It’s funny how much time you spend hoping you don’t end up knocked up when you’re younger and then when you want to…ugh! This is cycle three off BC for me!

i got the 20 pack on amazon, way cheaper than in the store! Pregnancy testa are cheaper on amazon, too!

on the thermometers, yes you do want one specifically for TTC and BBT’s are just that! The up and up is nice cause it has two decimals places where a lot just have one (the more exact temp makes  it easier to see a shift!) and it’s not $30+ like some!

one thing that was interesting, this being my first cycle charting. FF actually set my O date as CD20 and then around CD23 it shifted my O date to CD 16…ive heard other people say that’s happened to them, since it’s just based on temp shifts. It’s not really a big deal because I see a shift and know I O’d. Just makes it a little tricky for this cycle to know when to PoAS…so I figured I’d start early ; )

The ladies on these boards are an awesome support. Seems like all our friends either have oops! Babies or try for years with miscarriages and fertility drugs along the way…so it’s tough to relate on that.

FX for  BFP’s for all us ladies soon!
