I haven’t used it, but I would think it would be much more accurate the second month.

The first month will have you test more frequently (8-10 times) before you get your peak. The next months the monitor will “know” you a little better and you won’t have to test quite as often. Just a heads up, the monitor is preset to automatically give you 2 peak days followed by another high. To save test strips I always quit testing after I got the peak – not sure if that was a good idea or not as I am still not pregnant. Good luck to you!

I’ve used this for six cycles already. The first month (first month ttc), I never got a peak. I also had an unusually long cycle at 38 days, and extended spotting, which I’d never had before so I was kinda freaked. Doc couldn’t give an explanation either.

I tend to ignore my monitor now, and only start testing a couple of days before FF predicts O, and I also stop once I get my first peak. I have tested after first peak before, and it’s nice to see how dark the LH line is in comparison with first peak day, but the actual monitor is on auto-pilot so I take the reading with a pinch of salt. I’ve also noticed that my temps tend to show O a couple of days after first peak, but CM indicate earlier O.

@lonsk:  I did the same thing!

I used this and got our BFP after 3 cycles of using it. DH was out of town on my fertile days the first cycle lol. We had 4 cycles of TTC before that without success. My BFF also used it and got her BFP on her second icy clue and a friend of hers got the BFP on the first cycle. So yes I swear by it.

you get used to some of the weird readings. For me, my estrogen and lh surges always happened the same day so I never got high days only peak days. I did not test the whole 10 days after the first cycle. Actually my cycles were so long that it wanted me to test for 20 days.
