@Purple_Bride:  That is very strange!

I got 3+ weeks no matter what time if day i took it (did one each week from weekd 4-7) so I’d be surprised if it is that.

I would go into the doctor first thing in the morning and be pushy. You need to find out what’s going on and waiting a week is not acceptable.

Sorry I can’t be more reassuring but the most important thing is to find out what is going on as soon as you can x

Congrats on your BFP!

It sounds like 2-3 weeks ago wasn’t AF, it was probably heavier implantation bleeding. Some women get it heavy, it’s not super common but it does happen. They mistake it for a period and them bam they’re pregnant and surprised at how far along they are.

you can have positive/dark opks while pregnant. so I wouldn’t count solely on them.

I had heavier bleeding (than normal anyway) at 4-5 weeks pregnant.  I thought it was my period.  I bled enough that I considered a period but I normally had light periods (due to BCP).  So I certainly wasn’t filling up a pad an hour or anything.  No idea if it was implantation bleeding but it can happen.  If my conception date is right (going backwards from my due date) I would have been 9 DPO when I started bleeding.  I went in for a 12.5 week NT scan and got a surprise when they told me I was 16 weeks along.

@Purple_Bride:  I’ve read that they’re not really very accurate with dating… my doctor won’t do a beta, so I thought I could just get one of those as an informal “are my levels where they should be” check, but I googled it first to make sure it would work that way and came across a lot of women who said the date estimators weren’t accurate at all. Like getting different estimates on the same day, or going from 3+ to 2-3 and then back again…. I wouldn’t put too much stock in it.

To me it sounds like you ovulated earlier than you thought and had a false period or breakthrough bleeding.

@Purple_Bride:  Once he does bloods he’ll have a better idea about where things are at. I had to take time off on  a wed and Fri in the one week but I think there are Some things that afor more important. There are many possible reasons that you may have gotten that reading. It will be good to get a clearer picture as to why Xxx

Weird! I remember when you first posted your test, you thought you were only 4DPO but the lines were really strong. I wonder if like PP say, your period really was just implantation bleeding. I’m sure it’s frustrating not to know, but maybe see a doctor who will give you an ultrasound and has the ability to do so at your first appointment?

The good news is that you are most definitely pregnant :).

This is really interesting actually. I have a friend who has a 10 month old, and she hadn’t had any periods since getting KU with him. She and her hubby were just enjoying their sex life, but were using protection since they didn’t think she was ovulating, but knew she could very well be. She felt like she was about to get AF, so they didn’t protect one time. Within 3 hours of their “action,” AF started. Yet somehow, from that ONE time they didn;t protect, in the three hours before AF, she got pregnant. I thought, nope no way this is possible, but this is what her DOCTOR said! He said it is EXTREMELY rare (and I have no clue how her egg was alive still at that point) but it can happen.

Anecdotes aside, the good news is with those line, you are so definitely pregnant! I am quite excited to find out what your results for the due date are, this is just so crazy!

One question though… What caused you to test at 4dpo? I mean, it obviously was a good call, but I’m just curious what made you do that haha

@Purple_Bride:  Are you sure it was your period? So many women that I know have had really heavy bleeding that they thought was a period, but it was just implantation bleeding or bleeding which some women get regularly in pregnancy.

Either way, you’re pregnant, YAY! CONGRATS!

They’ll probably want to do a dating US at the doctor (which I had, too) and then you’ll really know. 🙂
