So my wedding is just about 6 weeks away, and I think I’ve been pretty relaxed about most of it. We booked a majority of our big vendors early, so we really didn’t have much to stress about… I just don’t understand how some wedding vendors just don’t care!
My first experience with this was with the first lady we spoke to about flowers. She was friend’s with FI’s Grandfather, so we figured she’d probably be able to give us a good deal. We went in and spoke with her, and I told her I’d email her photos of what I liked so she could give us a quote. Well I emailed her the next day and I never heard anything back. So I emailed her again to just check in, and I still didn’t get a response. So I called a few days later, and she said she would check her email and get back to me by the next day. I never heard anything after that, so I never tried to contact to her again. She obviously didn’t need my business.
Needless to say, we booked a different florist. Well, over the weekend, I email her to make a few changes to our contract since we lost a few member of our bridal party. She said from the beginning that it wouldn’t be a big deal because she understands that things change. She emailed me back the next day and said she would email me a revised contract on Monday. Well it’s Thursday, and I haven’t heard back from her. WTF!!!!!
And then there’s the cake…. The first lady we contacted was a family friend who said she’d be able to give us a good deal. Well, everytime we try to contact her, it takes her 4+ days to get back to us. Um, no thanks! If my business is not that important to you, I will spend my money elsewhere.
And lastly our chair rental place…. Granted, we won 100 chiavari chairs at a bridal show, and the lady was really good at first about getting back to us. Well, after we sent in the contract, we never heard anything back… Now, we’re thinking that we’re definitely going to hit over 100 guests, so obviously we would anticipate renting the extra chairs from the same place that we won the first 100 from. Now I’m scared because I havent heard anything back from this lady in a while…
These wedding vendors are ridiculous. I’ve just sent out follow-up emails to everyone, and if I don’t hear anything by tomorrow afternoon, they will be receiving angry phone calls from me when I get off work! I swore I wouldn’t turn into bridezilla, but when you’re spending this kind of money on someone’s services, the least they can do is make a prompt response.
Please tell me that I’m not crazy to be so irritated with these vendors!
