So, I have had this problem for a while…
Anytime, I wear makeup the pores on my nose and chin magnify and appear to be clogged with something white. I exfoliate regularly.
Does anyone know what this might be caused by or how to get rid of it?

@mrschmura: I used to have these, but I now use an antibacterial cleanser (Exuviance) and a toner (Mario Badescu glycolic acid toner) and its helped tons.

I’m not 100% sure this will fix your problem, but the best thing I ever did for my skin was started using diluted organic (the cloudy stuff) apple cider vinegar (50%water/50%vinegar). It cleared up my stress break outs before the wedding and keeps my skin from being oily or dry. And it’s cheap compared to other things. Honey is also great if you need an antibacterial scrub/mask.
(I have sensitive skin that ranges form desert to oil slick and thus try to avoid chemically engineered cleaners)

Well I would guess that if it’s happening when you wear makeup, then maybe it’s the type of makeup you’re wearing? I would try a different makeup first. And if that doesn’t work, maybe try an exfoilating brush with your cleanser or cleansing toner.

I was fine until I got pregnant… Now I use Cetaphil, and it seems to be working at keeping my pores clean and in check.

also try changing your makeup sponge or washing your brushes more often! that helped me a bit

@mrschmura: If you want to get rid of it instantly wash your face in warm to hot water, or do this as soon as you get out of the shower – with a clean tissue and your hands just squeeze the white stuff out. It won’t leave marks.

Glam glow changed my life, seriously. I have always had blackheads on my nose. Using it 2x a week for a month has made a noticeable difference.

I had this problem really bad too until I started using Philosophy’s Help Me. It has really shrunk my pores so that they’re not even as close to as bad as they were.

@Alby2013: where do you get this?

I’m thinking it probably has something to do with your makeup.
I have generally good skin with only some super pesky blackheads on my nose. I’ve found that this works best… First, I wash my face and exfoliate as usual. I do a two-for-one deal by using the Olay Pro-X, it’s similar to the Clarisonic but waaaaaaay cheaper. Then I steam my nose to open my pores and use Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. It’s specifically for clearing your pores. The first time I used it I didn’t steam my nose and noticed no difference, but I tried again after allowing my pores to open some and HOLYS**T. This stuff really works! And I haven’t found it to be harsh. Let’s just say no more clogged pores for me! 🙂 I’d definitely give it a shot if you can.
