My husband read a little, but we pretty much just went to ebay and craigslist and bought Bum Genius 3.0. They've been perfect for us and I'venever used anything else.
@sorrycharlie: I'm interested in this too (though we're still TTC), so I checked Amazon. This book was just published: http://www.amazon.com/Changing-Diapers-Guide-Modern-Diapering/dp/0983562210/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319821842&sr=8-1
Kelly Wels published the book Changing Diapers that @mvp_bride: mentioned. It has been reviewed as a great resource. I ahven't heard of a book other than that which encompasses modern cloth diapering.
The other thing you should consider is doing a diaper rental through one of the online stores. A number of them offer a diaper rental program that gives you an opportunity to try a bunch of different kinds before investing. Definitely consider going to a CDing store if you don't want to do a rental.
What helped us was going to a local cloth diapering store. We were the only people in the store, she talked about her personal experience, and helped us find what we think will work (we haven't had our baby yet).
I feel like it would be hard to have a book b/c it changes and gets updated so often. I found the best info through friends who cloth diaper. If you have questions, it might just be best to ask them here on the bee!
For me personally reading that huge CD thread gave me just about all the information I needed, it was great to hear different opinions of different bees. I also read other websites and read lots of reviews of different brands
I have tonss of questions. My main concern is that reading all the different reviews (and youtube videos) every brand seems to have its perks and cons.
I've read that before you know what will work, not to stock up. But what did everyone do the first 6-8 weeks home - did you use disposables? I feel like it would save money to slowly by them throughout pregnancy (cloth OR disposables) but I'm afraid to do that now, haha!
I think my main reason for pursuing cloth is environmental concerns - I've seen so much conflicting information about waste v. water/energy use. Any opinions on that?
I learned everything I needed to know online in just a few sites recommended by the Bee experts. :) Also I had BumGenius so I read all the stuff on their site, but I would think it applies accordingly. INteresting that there is nothing in print right now.

I apologize, again, because I know there is a hugeee thread with cloth diapering info.
But for the sake of saving my eyesight, I searched our library catalog. There seem to be no books about cloth diapering! I have 9568985 questions about it, researching and comparing brands, costs, buying in advance versus trying brands once baby comes, etc etc! I feel totally lost.
The links on the sticky are fantastic and I've bookmarked so many, but I suppose I feel like I need to just GO to a CD store and have someone talk to me (probably will take all day. kidding!). Closest near me seems to be Boston.
Hmm..any ideas? Possible to request information from companies (catalog, pamphlet) or am I just being silly now? :)
