I haven't used many but I was trying to use a homemade mix for a little bit and had some build up issues so I switched to Purex free and clear and that's been working fine for us. I also stick some calgon water softener (not as much as they suggest) in once in awhile.
I use BioKleen with either Borax or Calgon to soften the water.
We've gotten by for 15 months, but we needed to strip the diapers last week. It was worth it because they are better than ever right now.
**For some reason I was thinking I have hard water. I instead have soft water so my response is null and void but I left it below anyway.
Tiny Bubbles works for us. RockNGreen (soft rock) still left build up. Charlie's Soap didn't get them clean enough. Tiny Bubbles works.
