We got no cloth diapers at our showers, but I am doing a newborn diaper rental instead of buying infant fitteds and then AIO for later.

ETA: cloth diapers were on our registry, but we just didn’t get any. We did get some disposables though, even though we did not register for those. We’ll save them for emergencies, I suppose.

At one of my showers, the “gift theme” was books, so guests were asked to gift a book with their name and date written on the inside cover. Everyone gifted a book and most people gave a gift of their choosing as well – could your host maybe put an insert in the invite noting that you’ll be cloth diapering and that’s the gift theme for the shower? I think that’s totally okay since showers are gift-centric anyway.

I’m not sure what a diaper raffle is, but could she do a cloth-diaper raffle?

@Onime:  The problem with a cloth diaper raffle is that a single cloth diaper is pretty darned expensive so to get people to bring them to get raffle tickets to win, say, a starbucks gift card or something… just not likely.

With a normal diaper raffle, each diaper gets you a raffle ticket… so for like $10, you can give 40 diapers and get 40 raffle entries. One BumGenius cloth diaper however… about $17 or $18.

@mrsSonthebeach:  Oh, I see. Perhaps, if people get you most of the other expensive items on your registry (like strollers, etc), the money you save can be spent on cloth diapers.
