Do you have any friends or friends with sisters/SIL that got married in your area? My best advice is to ask around and to try and find a sample of their work from a friend.

Replacing the zipper in your crinoline would be easy enough and depending on what type of bustle you want I wouldn’t worry too much, but I would want to see someone’s experience in taking a dress in. I only say this because I got my wedding dress altered by someone whose work I saw, but my MOH/SIL got her BM dress done by someone down the road from her. Iit needed to be taken in about 4 dress sizes and shortened. Well the lady totally messed hers up! The hem was uneven and she had to take it back. It still didn’t fit correctly at the wedding. I wish she would have went with someone whose work we’ve seen or heard about.
