I just spent way too much time looking for products that both me and the mister could use without feeling weird about it.  First off, it was fun shopping for both of us for the first time, and I love any excuse to shop for beauty products.  The trouble is, I don't want anything too masculine and he certainly doesn't care to smell floral/fruity.  I found that natural products were a good compromise, with scents like peppermint or vanilla that aren't too heavy.

I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue.  Are there any products that you and your SO share?  Any recommendations?

What type of products are you talking about?  Skin? Bath?

Anything really--skin, bath, hair.  It doesn't matter.

I personally do not share anything with my fiance, but I would think maybe Aveda or Kiehls would be a good place to look.  Also, Rusk (hair) products have a scent that both men and women could use.

He uses my stuff. He has his own face soap but we both use Clinique clarifying lotion and moisturizer. Mainly he just uses the moisturizer in the winter. I think he sneaks my shampoo, too (Pantene). He told me this after I mentioned how quickly I was running out!

I didn't set out to have stuff we'd share, but he keeps using mine. I'm curious, if you'll share -- why do you want to share this stuff?

We use the same bar soap - it's some kind of 'cool mint' scent (drugstore brand).

Hotchild was right - we use Kiehls facial moisturizer and if we are traveling and he forgets his stuff he'll use my Kiehls unisex deodarant.

As far as hair products, he'll uses some kind of putty, but if he's out he'll use anything of mine with some hold like hairspray or hair gel. Oh, and we use Aveda shampure because it comes in a large bottle.

I think it's just easier to share.  He's gonna use my stuff anyway, right?  As much as I think he secretly enjoys my nicer products, it's nice to buy stuff to share.  It cuts down on cost, clutter (which is good because I can not stand clutter) and packaging (fewer bottles around, fewer bottles to toss).  So I grab Cetaphil instead of Oil of Olay for a facewash, and I just bought Alba lotion w/out fragrence instead of the Jergens lotion with tanner.  And there are plenty of things we won't ever share.

I know, it could just be me, because I'm cheesy.  But I was curious if I was the only one who consciously shops like that.

Kiehls!  I didn't think of that at all, great idea!

That makes sense. I figured it's just my guy who would want to sneak my supplies, but I can see why you'd want to accomodate it.

I think my husband generally isn't a real product guy, but the few things he uses, he generally buys for himself.  However, I have noticed that he uses my Eucerin Calmin Creme in the winter, when his skin gets really dry.  He is also in love with this foot soak stuff I have from Bath and Body Works:

We share face wash and sometimes he steals my shampoo.  He loves the smell of anything fruity (though he'd hate me for saying that).  We also share face lotion (aveno), regular lotion (usually just a high moisturizing scentless lotion)

    Then obviously toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.

My guy and I share a lot of products

Body Wash: Dove Gentle Exfoliating wash. It just has a clean smell.

Face wash: Aveeno gentle foaming wash

Face moisturizer: either Olay or Aveno

    shaving gel:gillete, (the girl kind).

We have our different bar soaps (although I know for a fact that he likes my Olay stuff and wouldn't feel weird if his just was never bought again when it ran out).  We have some of the same shampoo stuff (although he know not to use my expensive stuff that I keep on this one shelf in the shower).  Same Neutrogena face wash, I use some Origin microderm stuff on him when he is in the bathroom and I can nab him :)

He takes my mousse and pomade all the time. We also share Cetaphil and I make him use my moisturizer when he's looking a little dry. Shower wise we don't share anything... he doesn't want to use my Pureology shampoo/conditioner because it's "too expensive to use on his hair" and I use body wash while he uses bar soap.

We share toothpaste, mouthwash, lotion, etc. But he likes having his own "manly" things too!

Mr. Bruschetta uses an SPF moisturizer that's really similar to mine -- just not quite as high a number.  He also uses an Oil of Olay face wash.

The bath products he uses smell too "manly" so I don't ever use them!

We share shampoo and conditioner -- either Dove's Extra Moisturizing or Suave's knockoff on Humectant. I have super dry curly hair and he has a beard, so the extra moisture is needed by us both... and we save shower space! I don't share his bar soap (that's kind of icky to me, frankly) but I did switch over to a bar to simplify -- he uses Irish Spring, I use Caress. I'll use his Gold Bond powder when I'm out of baby powder (summertime in Mississippi, baby) but it smells like toothpaste or something so I don't like to. Oh, and speaking of toothpaste, we share that. That's pretty much the extent of his grooming routine (he has amazing skin, never washes his face) so he doesn't horn in on my mousse or moisturizer or anything like that.

We both use Pro-Activ, we both use the same bar soap, and we use the same toothpaste. That's about it though. A lot of my stuff is scented and girlie.

EDIT: He did find some old volumizing shampoo the other day and started using it. It's funny cuz he has a buzz cut, LOL!
