trevino24:  Most showers I’ve attended,  people were eager to get the gifts open & leave. Games were viewed as obligatory,  but not necessarily wanted. If this event is more social, battle of the sexes (board game) should be fun,  but I think that may last at least an hour. I don’t think it’s a typical shower game.

I would just look for good games and not worry if they aren’t wedding related. I love Apples to Apples for a large group. Cranium is also always fun. And there are always the traditional charades and pictionary!

All of the feedback that I hear from moms and even my friends is that no one really likes the games.  My advice would be to pick just 1 game and go for something like the Newlywed Game where you are doing the work and your guests are simply entertained.

If it’s co-Ed, I’m assuming it’s more of a social gathering than a traditional shower with ladies sitting in circle cooing over Household stuff.

I think you can skip the games entirely or make them optional for those who really insist (like bingo, what’s in my purse, etc). Non related board games like the ones the prev posters mentioned are fine too if you feel the need to give guests something more organized to do. In my experience, most people are just happy eating, drinking and socializing

the few co-Ed shower games I have seen are pretty rowdy and definitely not classy. They are probably ok for younger crowds but I personally wouldn’t impose them to my grandma or my mom’s friends…
