Sorry to hear! Just be patient… it takes time for people to warm up to the “new kid”.

Hi TG20! My advice is to make sure they know who you are. When I first started my new job, some people weren’t so nice because they didn’t know who I was, why I was here, etc. If you are already acquainted with everyone, just stay positive. Be friendly to them (even though you may not feel like it) because it will make them more inclined to want to be around you. Do you all eat lunch in the same place? Maybe try to spark a conversation? Is there even one person you feel a bit closer with than the others who can help you “assimilate” a little bit?

Good luck! We’re here for you.

I have a good relationship with the co-workers in my program, but I have a great relationship with others.  I think you just have to wait it out, and continue to be nice.  I work in a large office, it took people awhile to open up.  Now we’re tight, but I see some of them do the same thing to other newbies.
