I know the charter bus would be nicer, but I’d be pleasantly surprised that you were providing any transportation that a school bus would be lovely.

School bus. That’s what we’re doing. If guests are gonna complain, they can provide their own damn transportation!

You are providing transportation. That’s a huge help to all of the guests. We are trying to decide whether we are providing transportation right now and if we do – it will be a school bus. Guests will not care – especially if it’s within the city and let’s face it, they are taking transportation because they’ve been drinking. If they’ve been drinking – they won’t care ;). The price increase totally isn’t worth it and I doubt people would notice/care if you had a school bus instead of a coach. Definitely go with the school bus! 🙂

Where I live and in my circle it’s the norm to provide a nice coach bus as transportation from the hotel to the venue, so I would feel a little weird if a school bus showed up.  However, if that’s not the norm in your area and people will surprised with transportation of any kind, then it’s fine to go with the school bus.  Maybe you could decorate it a little bit to make it look more wedding appropriate?

I would go with what is in your budget. BUT if you can manage to stick with folding chairs and still do the Coach I would go that route.

A friend of mine just married the other weekend and there are pictures of her super gorgeous Shabby Chic wedding (complete with decorated hay bails used for seating at the outdoor ceremony) all over FB – SUPER PRETTY. And then all of a sudden pictures started popping up of the school bus she used and it sorta made them look like little kids, kind of juvenile. No offense to others who have used this option, but it sort of stripped an element of galmour, IMHO.

Ultimately though you should do what makes most sense budget wise! Even if it means using both the folding chairs AND school bus!

@MsGinkgo:  There you go then! Personally I would do what makes more sense budget wise – tt your FI about it and see how he feels about it and go from there Smile
