OMG I LOVE the idea of a tan/sand linen suit with a simple cobalt tie. I would even play with pattern in the tie, something like gingham? Black IMO would be way too formal and stuffy (and so would vests) for a beautiful breezy beach wedding, and cobalt wouldn't pop in contrast as well with black as it would with tan.
For the girls, I say nude! Nude heels are so in right now, and they elongate everyone's legs. They are short dresses, I'm assuming? Check out Macy's website for a GREAT pair of heels by Marc Fisher. I own them, and so does my sister, and they are the best shoes! If you are opting for flats, like sandals, I say a pretty, champagne colored gladiator type sandal with a little embellishment? Or nude flats with a little medallion/embellishment at the toe would look nice too!
Thank you so much, you have been a GREAT help. I am so pleased with your advice :)
i agree with tuscanbride. i love the idea of the tan suit and cobalt tie. it will look great for a beach wedding.
I LOVE the tan idea, even though our groomsmen had cobalt ties with the traditional black suits (green tie is our friend/gm/officiant):

Hi, I am having a beach wedding in Florida this upcoming April. I am a little unsure as to what to choose for the groomsmen. Would sand colour suits with a matching cobalt blue tie be ok or should I go with the traditional black suit with matching blue vest and tie. Also what would be a good shoe choice for the ladies.....do they need to match what the guys are wearing?
