I am in the beginning stages of wedding planning. My fiancee and I have decided for our Aug 3rd 2013 wedding to have a BBQ reception of pulled pork, beef ribs with spice rub, grilled vegetables, baked beans, pasta and potatoe salad, mac and cheese. We will add a few more things however we are trying to figure out what we should have for our cocktail hour. I was thinking a variety of cheeses, fruit, meatballs. I am not sure what else we should have so any suggestions are welcomed.

Your dinner sounds great! With the main meal being so heavy I think keeping it lighter for the cocktail hour would be good- Fruits, veggies, cheese, shrimp, meatballs, something wrapped in bacon:)

YUM YUM YUM. Your dinner sounds awesome! I agree with keeping it light and having something bacon wrapped… With all that delicious food later you want your guests to still be able to enjoy it and not already be stuffed.

Thank you ladies…I completely agree as well. Since I am allergic to seafood we will not have it around but something wrapped in bacon sounds Oh So Yummy!

We’re keeoing ours light (due to tight budget…if we have one at all: due more to the logistics though).
We’re planning on assorted crackers and cheeses, fruit platters and dip, cookies, maybe a chocolate fountain, stuffed jalapenos, puff pastry treats.
