My FI and I have our first meeting with the caterer tomorrow and were having the same conversation.  I really want to do mini versions of all of our favorite comfort foods, hamburgers, fish tacos, pizzas, french fries.  Or we may go the traditional route of crab cakes, shrimp, etc.

at the last wedding I went to the biggest hit was mac n cheese shooters in a cheese crisp basket.  AMAZING!

Mmm, I like the sound of those mac and cheese shooters…

We’re having crab cakes and little brie, pear, thyme, and honey tartlets.

The biggest hit hands down was bacon wrapped scallops.  Also got a lot of good feedback about the crab cakes, spanikopita, and baked brie.

@baw561187:

I attended a cocktail hour in Disneyland . The food choices we had were  bread,cheese, crackers, dried shrimp balls(good but let me with foul breath) , quesadillas (grooms pick) and lots of drinks .

By the time dinner came I was a a hungry guest however the cocktail food was all right never been to one so it was new to me.

We had a bunch of stuff, but the big hit was a mashed potato bar — little martini glasses filled with mashed taters and then a bunch of toppings to choose from.  It was the one thing I made SURE that I ate.  Sooooo good!
