I love the fact that different opinions can be expressed in a polite and respective manner. What a BORING world it would be if we all thought alike!
I totally agree @bakerella: great reminder for everyone on the boards here, the positive energy is what draws all of us here, so we definitely can't forget that along the way as we become more involved in the community!
PS - LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the silly hat pictures... :) Made me giggle.
I'm glad you all are embracing it :) We all love it here, so I think we should all keep working to let this place stay a postive, safe environment for us all. I totally agree, if everyone had the same viewpoint this would be a boring world, and what keeps this world interesting is ongoing dialogue and discussion about what makes those differences so interesting and can help to open up each of our worldviews. We can have meaningful dialogue without using harsh words or attacking each other, and at the end of it, learn a lot about something we may have never thought about from an opposing perspective. You don't have to change your mind at the end of it, but you can at least chew it over and respect where the other person is coming from :)
And in other news, I want one of these:

I'm going to bump this to the top of the stickies. I think this is important for everyone to check out....
Thanks!
It is sad that as adults we need a reminder to "play nice".
Hopefully everyone can just remember to be respectful.
Out of genuine curiosity, why are there any "lifestyle" boards on here if this is a wedding site? I don't think babies or no babies has anything to do with weddings, and it is only contributing negativity to this site.
@redheadem: Honestly, there could be a board on peanut butter sandwiches if there was enough interest, that doesn't mean that people have the right tobe mean or disrespectful.
People just need to grow up and realize that this is the interenet, there will be people with different beliefs and ways of life. We have to just respect ourselves and each other.
Of course I understand we need to be respectful no matter what, but my question still stands.
@redheadem: A lot of our members love this community and have chose to stay post wedding, so as the site grows and life changes, we've continued to expand the boards to accommodate the needs of our members. This is, at the end of the day, a business, so of course we want members to stay! LOL!
That being said, as with all topics wedding related, there is an expectation for all of our members to adhere to the TOS and respect each others choices, wedding or lifestyle related. We love WB being a safe, fun, and creative environment, and I think we can all work together to keep it that way :)
@redheadem: In addition to Bees choosing to stay on past the wedding, like bakerella said, not everyone can separate out wedding/pregnancy/nesting into neat little separate compartments. Things happen, and sometimes people have to deal with these issues simultaneously. Why not discuss all aspects of your life with a community you enjoy?
Oh, I found my hat.
edit: I totally resized it and WB said "NO!" Sorry its so big!
Thanks, bakerella and all the others! I've only been an active member of the bee for a short while but I've noticed the shift lately and it has kinda bummed me out.I hope we can all keep this in mind and enjoy this community.
Now...I'm off to find a hat to call my own!
I love this thread. It does kind of suck that we, as adults, have to be reminded to be nice to one another, but still. Thanks for helping us be peaceful :-)
As far as hats go .... I couldn't decide on just one. Besides, I can't wear the same hat every single day, now can I? hehe

I want to add a hat too! This is my panda hat... But now i really do want a panda hat. lol
@imalittlebirdie: LOVE that hat!!
@knight.keira: I would totally wear that! It's gorgeous!!
@Miss Godiva: I would totally eat that! It's gorgeous!
Ok I seriously need to contribute a hat too... so here's my "Goofy" hat

THANK YOU!
I, too, have fallen victim to cattiness and defensiveness and I am brand spankin' new to the site. A kind reminder that we are all different people with different choices. I will be watching what I type from now on!
@TheFutureMcBride: You're not the only one. But then I've always had a soft spot for the eccentric designs of Philip Treacy.
And I think this flowchart is relevant to the topic under discussion..

I appreciate the wedding bee for having positive responses to questions. It's about offering help not judgements. Obviously, the person who posts is not sure of the situation and is looking for help.
I truely believe there are blog stockers on a few other wedding sites/ blogs who live to judge/ offer advise...
Thank you Wedding Bee
