What's your favorite coffee drink?
I love peppermint mochas. They are sinful but so good!
Mochas, but only from this one coffee shop in SF. Also, I just got back from Australia and they have this wonderful espresso drink everywhere called a "flat white", it's sort of like a latte. I'm sad that it's not a thing here in the States :(
I cannot live without the bold blends from Starbucks - Gold Coast, Espresso Roast, and French Roast are my favorites. If they're only serving Pike Place I have to make it a Red Eye!
And I can only drink them black...
Can you tell I'm a coffee addict?
Yay..my fav topic!
My regular: Dunkin Donuts Hazelnut flavored hot coffee with cream and 2 splendas! And I only like it homemade (yay for selling DD coffee at the supermarket!). I look forward to it every morning!
Haha, I am with Laylabelle...
Top FIVE:
1. Pumpkin Spice Latte
2. Plain iced coffee
3. Caramel Macchiato
4. Kona Coffee, hot, just a lil milk and raw sugar
5. Vanilla Latte
A tall latte with caramel and hazelnut syrup (3 pumps of each please)
So we buy unroasted beans from a local coffee shop (they're a bit hard to find in most stores) and then just roast them on the oven. Right now we're really into the guatamalen beans. That way always have freshly roasted, freshly ground coffee. Then we usually have a little expresso. I add honey to mine and like it topped wtih frothy milk. If we want to get crazy we'll put some spices or chocolate in it.
I LOVE the gingerbread latte at Starbucks and I haven't tried the peppermint mocha! I feel like I need to try it first thing!
I am pretty addicted to cappuccinos hot and blended with ice.
I love the French Roast from Jones Coffee Roasters in Pasadena. Mr. Spaniel and I buy our beans in bulk there and make it in the French press... so satisfying to DIY. :)
If I go out, I always get a latte. If I can taste the coffee too easily (i.e., if it doesn't have milk in it!) I start to compare it to better coffees. ;)
But then again I also really like the cappuccino machines at gas stations, especially if they have pumpkin.
@ MsHymanRoth - I tried the Gingerbread latte at Starbucks and did not like it. Their peppermint mocha is ok. I kind of want to try the eggnog latte, but I'm not sure how it will be. Have you tried it?
Gingerbread lattes and pumpkin spice lattes also rule, I love the holiday drinks.
mmmmm!
I haven't tried the eggnog latte ... the trick to the gingerbread latte is to get it really light - only a little bit of the syrup added to your latte. I always get it with vanilla soymilk b/c Im allergic to dairy (but I cheat sometimes ;))
you know what else we had that was delicious. In jamaica they would always put condensed milk in the coffee, it was fantastic. Even the hub who is more picky about coffee and liking it w/o sugar or milk really liked it
@boston bee i always wondered how people became aware that they like things at a certain temp. how did you find out?
I love a French Vanilla Cappuccino with a little bit of cinnamon and some splenda! :)
Bella
P.S. Since those are SOOO fattening (even the non-fat version has loads of calories), I make regular breakfast brew coffee at home and then pour in some sugar free coffee mate (I like French Vanilla or Hazelnut) and some splenda. Not as good, but it works! :) Also, the Sugar Free is significantly less in calories than the fat free for those who are watching what they eat. I've found this to be true with a lot of things, including Jell-o... always check Sugar Free against Fat Free!
I would like to know about the temp thing too! How do you know? I always say extra hot ... =)
From what I've heard it's best to brew coffee at below the boiling point, around 200 Farenheit plus or minus a few degrees. So espressos are technically not extracting the most flavor since it's above the temp when you steam brew, but whatever I love espressos. I'm not sure what the temperature means when you order it though, is that what temp it's served at or brew or?
Well fist off I love our Keurig coffee maker, wow! Its the best thing ever no more coffee runs and Gloria Jeans k- cups are out of this world. I would recommend Keurig to anyone, its a perfect cup of coffee every time.
Wow...I work for Starbucks and you're asking me to pick? lol.
About Temp: We brew coffee at about 200 degrees F. When we steam milk we stop it at 160. Extra Hot is 170-175. And Extra Extra Hot is usually Around 180-185. We Automatically make Mochas or anything with sauce (not syrup) Extra hot, so if you ask for that extra hot, you'll get it about 175. Does that help?
Prettylady, my parents got me addicted to Keurig but now they've switched to Breville one cup gourmet coffee maker ... same k cups. I agree it's so easy!
@His Barista: I just thought of you and wondered if you were going to respond, LOL!
The barista at my work actually says she hates coffee, she just makes it for a living.
hcritton-haha. Yep! Here I am. lol. We have a couple who don't like the coffee. I personally can't stand mine black. It all tastes the same that way.
I thought about it and my go-to drink on a rough morning is a quad grande cinnamon dolce light whip white mocha. lol.
Um, i have an espresso maker in my house. Yep. I buy my own sugar free syrups and make it all myself
vanilla
vanilla-raspberry (sounds weird, but so good)
pumpkin pie
I also like chai and hazelnut....Sigh.
I like the coffees. All of the coffees
mmmmmm
Vanilla Latte for sure! Other than that, dark roast coffee. Why do light coffee and decaf exist?
I like peppermint mochas, but generally I'll just do regular coffee with cream and sugar. I'm boring :)
I always chicken out and order hot chocolate, but now that I have your recommendations, I'm gonna order something more daring next time. : )
mmmm i looove Dunkin homemade coffee! its one of those things i totally splurge on (its pretty expensive compared others)
and I love caramel machiottos (sp?) from starbucks, typical chick drink!
I've become re-addicted to coffee since starting school! The past couple weeks I have been drinking coffee with soy milk every morning: 2/3 strong coffee, 1/3 soy milk. I just discovered Silk's pumpkin spice seasonal flavor, and it's sooo good.
I also love a good Vietnamese iced coffee - super strong coffee with sweetened condensed milk. Or a soy latte with a shot of any flavor, but especially raspberry.
I. LOVE. COFFEE. We have a stovetop espresso maker, which is soooo delicious. I like to have those Torani syrups and make a flavored latte myself. Yum. Whenever I go to a coffee shop, I order a vanilla latte, a caramel latte, or a toffee latte. If I don't want that much caffeine, I get a chai. Also, I am addicted to the gingerbread lattes Starbucks does at the holidays!!
Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice brewed coffee in the morning, with Splenda & half-and-half.
Iced skinny vanilla latte in the afternoon.
Vietnamese iced coffee for dessert after dinner.
Those are just my very favorite drinks. There are lots more coffee drinks that I love.
Sometimes when I go to sleep at night I get excited because I realize I'll get to have coffee when I wake up.
I like my coffee like I like myself... black! :p I have a ton of flavored coffees, but I drink those black as well.
Sometimes I will order it in that way, "I'll have a coffee, black like me! :D" The good thing is I don't have to share.
Though when I went to NJ, we'd go to places and I'd order "a coffee" under the impression that I would get my coffee with a little dish or an offer of cream and sugar, which I would turn down. But no, I order "just coffee, please" and the clerk/barista stands there and stares at me expectantly. And I wait for my total. And get stared at. And eventually, I ask how much it is... only to be asked if I wanted cream or sugar. D'oh.
I also am a fan of rest-stop coffee-type drinks. You know the ones with the powder and the "hold until cup is 2/3 full"... They make for good on the road drinks, but most of the time they are waaaaay too sweet, and I don't finish them.
Panera Bread Hazelnut Coffee with Skim Milk. It is pure bliss.
Does anyone remember Panera's House Latte? Those were divine, and they took them off the menu =(
And this Vietnamese Coffee treat sounds like a must have for me.....yummy!
