I've only ever sold mine through half.com and through my college's weekly email digest, but have had good luck with both. You might also try craigslist to save on shipping?
I have used Chegg before and I sort of have mixed feelings. They don't send you a check- they send you a prepaid Visa card, and I had problems activating mine. But I did like that you could just mail in your books and get the money right away, without having to wait for a buyer. You should also know that they will not give you credit for a new book unless it is sealed or somehow guaranteed unused.
I have also used Half.com and had good experiences with that. Im pretty sure that's one where you list your books for a price and wait for someone to buy it. I also would go to a local campus bookstore (not the school one) and usually got pretty good prices there.
Ive never sold books but i've always bought mine through amazon. Easy and never had a problem.
@PinkBubbleGum: Thank you for the info on Chegg! I always have a hard time with those prepaid visa cards also. Unfortunately I go to a small school and it doesn't have a campus bookstore other than the one that is in the school. :(
With Amazon, is it like ebay that you post the book and wait for a seller? I like the idea of just selling to a third party, getting my money, and not having to deal with a buyer. I would rather take a little less money than having to wait around for a buyer.
I've had GREAT experience w/ ecampus. They give you a quote right on the site for how much they'll pay for each book (just enter the ISBN number). And they cover shipping.
@Gemstone: I was actually just logging back into wedding bee to ask if anyone had used ecampus...I am now between that site and cashforbooks. How close to the quote were they when they sent the actual check? I was reading that they do accept highlighted books but not those that were overly highlighted. Did you have any that were highlighted that they accepted, and how much highlighting did you have?
I've used half.com and textbooksrus.com - both are pretty good.
Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace are good options if you'd rather sell them locally and not deal with shipping.
Also, in my city, there are several bookstores not affiliated with the college that have better buy-back prices than the on-campus options, so that might also be something to check out (if you havent already.)
I've only sold back to the campus bookstore, but I buy my books on abebooks.com (fabulous!) and amazon.com.
I was so excited to find out about the site ecampus because I have several graduate books I wanted to sell. Unfortunately one isn't being accepted. The other - a physiology textbook was published in 2008 and I paid ~$150.... they are willing to pay me $5.00. I'll just keep it listed on Half.com...
Good luck!
I used half.com, and I also posted some of mine on my Facebook. Because I was friends with so many people from my school on there, they sold almost instantly.
The best site to buy or sell is dealoz.com because it compiles the best price for all online sites. I spend $25 on $350 worth of books last semester and then sold them all for $68.

Hi there!
I am trying to sell some of my old textbooks and was wondering if any of you bees have had luck with cashforbooks.net or chegg.com? What was your experience?
Or...are there any other online sites that you have had success with?
Thank you!
