A younger friend of mine is a freshman at college this year, and I want to send her a care package around mid-term exams. Any ideas as to what to include? So far, I’m planning on possibly throwing in a Starbucks gift card, a mug with some tea, baked goods, a nail polish, and perhaps a knitted scarf (she goes to college in a major city in the northeast, and Im sure it’s going to be cold as we get into the end of October/November). What else makes sense? I’d throw in candles, but they’re usually a no-no in the dorms.

If she has to pay for laundry, a roll of quarters, gift cards for food other than the cafeteria, iTunes card, snack good easy to keep in the dorms.

The iTunes card is a great idea! I was thinking about putting together a mixed CD (maybe I’m dating myself there?) but then she can pick whatever she wants.

hike_katahdin87: Yes, easy to grab food snacks that she have for when she’s on the run, if she is a reader grab a fun book for her to look at when she is not reading her school books, cute pictures &/or picture frames, beauty products (face masks, chap stick, ect). You did a nice job with everything you’ve mentioned so far. Just about anything & everything helps college students!

Popcorn, anything that can be easily made in a microwave (which sounds lame, but sometimes you don’t have time for a dining hall run) and definitely some candies or other munchies. Stress eating is my best friend.
